Skywind Alternate Start incompatibility

Submitted by ZeroSbr on

Will there be anything done about this? I mean, I know I can just untick Alternate Start and activate it later, but I'd like to be able to have more options. For example, choosing between a Morrowind start, Alternate start, or just a vanilla start.

Thoughts?

By default, we would not support any other alternative start mod, unless someone spends some time to investigate "Alternate Start" and find a way to have both it and skywind exist.

That's not a priority for the core dev team...

It's not a priority for the core dev team to try and make compatibility patches where necessary? Seriously? Alternate Start has over 10k endorsements. That's a pretty darn popular mod. Not at least making an effort to make a patch for something like this will drive a lot of people away, myself included.

Well then why not just add an alternate start section for Morrowind, Like you are a resident in one of the cities, or an imperial soldier garrisoned in a fort, or a prisoner on a boat (normal start).

Eventually someone will find a way to patch both of these mods together.*

Anyway, I thought that we're already using a separate plug-in that gives you the choice to start in Skywind? Skywind_patch or something like that? (Note: I am not exactly up-to-date.) If that's the case, couldn't you just uncheck Skywind_patch and use Alternate Start instead?

* What I mean by this is: If someone wants it done, they should do it themselves.

The patch does that? No one told me...

I'm not sure. That's just what I've heard; I could be wrong. Like I said, I'm not the most up-to-date.

Yes if you don't apply the patch then the menu will not show up when you start a new game.

It's not a priority for the core dev team to try and make compatibility patches at all. Seriously.

Schlongs of Skyrim has over 1k endorsments, if I don't get a big fat juicy schlong patch I'm peacing out brahs. Seriously.

Which “ALT START MOD” you even talking about? The original creator of such mod is probably more then willing to make it compatible, if you requested it. As stated more then ones above, not our problem there mods are incompatible.

Why you even bringing up something so simple to fix. Just disable the “ALT START MOD” and start a new game and select start in Morrowind.

I think this thread should be closed...

You guys are right. I'll just request support on the author's mod page. Thanks!

Live Another Life seems to work well for Skywind. If I select "Skyrim", I am teleported to that room as is supposed be.

Really? Whenever I have the Patch.esp ticked I always hang on the main screen.

I feel that others should be obligated to make compatibility patches for my favorite mods. This should take priority.

Dude, it was resolved until you had to come and be an ass.

It's not just my favorite mod, it's a lot of peoples' favorite. Modders on the Nexus take into account compatibility in most of their mods, so why can't you guys?
