[RELz] Ogrim

Submitted by Ravanna on

Well this was a contraversial one perhaps, as the orginal morrowind creature was pretty bad.
and the eso was hardly an improvement.

So i says to myself I says "to hell with it, lets just make it a demon of malacath"

Gonna add loin cloth and satchel soon.

He looks too tall to me. Needs to be squatter.

we're limited by the skeleton here, though hopefully we can scale the bones of the giant so he's less tall

That should work, or just scale his belly up and make him even fatter that should even him out lol giant size ogrim

The Elder Scrolls Online one is so uninspired, Ogre 101

lol it looks like someone has been watching to much football and drinking beer. its an awesome model but I think he needs more blub. but that could be just me.

Woah woah woah... I disagree with everyone saying he needs to be fatter. Maybe a little fatter but honestly. There isn't anything that specifically says they are or need to be fat.
Just that the first game to really showcase them made them fat.

I say maybe even have an extra model or two. In the original Morrowind there were Ogrim Titans. Maybe make the taller Ogrims, "Ogrim Titans". Go for originality and more diversity that earlier engines and time constraints developers couldn't afford in the past.

I agree with kaleido. I also think it seams more draedra like compared to the original.

looks very nice but i think hey is just to long if u compare it to the origenal ogrim  but i like if this is just a different form of ogrim it just needs a brother ho is short and really fat and forget the eso ogrim the are just boring a lot of eso creatures look boring

also if u thake away the horns and a diferent colour it could be a perfect oger for skyblivion

also i dont knowe what skeleton the ust but the moonpath to elsweyr mod got this guy  sorry dont have beter picture

I will make him fatter later. as in the low poly, and alex's bone manipulation.

You cannot make super fat creatures like that for hi res when u have to conform to a thin skeleton.
there i said it.

Aside from my overwhelming sadness about his/or her? Lol, lack of fatness, this is looking really good, will look even better if Alex can shorten the bones! Where's the nip ring?! :p

NO NIPPLE RINGS

Are the chains and cloth going to be equipable armor? =p

*grabs popcorn*

But seriously, this looks good. Sure its not exactly like Morrowind but Skywind is a rendition of Morrowind, some things will be slightly different in terms of art style and so forth as Skyrim has a generally different style that shows in the landscape of Skywind.

Exactly, I loved Morrowind to death. But even I want to see and updated Morrowind through Skywind. Give it the same monsters, with a new feel and all. Overall I love the final Ogrim here! <3
I would say no No nipple rings as well but. I can live with it if everyone else begins to want it. This is a group project for fans. Lol if a nipple ring is what they want, give it to'em :P

I think the model looks amazing. The guy here is ugly (no offence, ogrim, but you need to work on that belly).

If I understand engine and skleteton/bones limitations, I think it is the best thing we can get. If theres gonna be a possibility to "shrink" the guy a bit and keep him fat, that's great, but i would use it as a variation. So you know - there would be tall ogrim, fat ogrim, all of them ugly ogrims :)

But when it comes to a model - it's amazing.

Yeah I know I wrote that already, its because its really amazing :p

we simply arent able to make the "Fat" ogrim right now, anways we need to keep the ogrim looking realistic, and honestly the ogrim doesnt eat mc donalds every day, so it should be more muscles than actual fat.

Personally, I like the new Ogrim a lot more than the older one. The newer one fits the srs atmosphere of the game/engine a lot more than the old one, the old one looks a bit cartoonish. I think his back could be a bit more scaly and spiky, but I think it looks fine.

Is that the latest version of the model?

hmm for some reason this ogrin has a cute  look. ravanna's it is way more fierce, the face expression makes the difference imo....

I recall the Northpoint models being brought up in a different Ogrim post and if I'm not mistaken they were contacted already. While their models are superb, I don't think they agreed to share their assets. Besides, I feel the direction of Ravanna's Ogrim is better suited to Skyrim/Skywind.

i totaly agrea but its always nice to see what others are doing

With 6 bones scaled slightly (to redo in CK by alex), and a morph target on the flesh to make him chubbier, this is the final result.

giant anims work really well.
Will need some editing perhaps.,

You  have got to check out alexanderb video of him in game!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gv4MHWn93r8&list=HL1379565980&feature=mh_lolz

Our best creature yet I think :) Shows the importance of choosing an appropriate creature to base off, as the lumbering motion of a giant gives size and weight to the monster.

Great work guys

Just leaving this link here for those who know what does it mean (not me apparently), it might affect Ogrim too so no offtopic :)

does that means we can add new animations without replacing the vanilla animations , like making a giant have new forms of attacking in addition to the vanilla attacks?

Love the way this Ogrim looks in comparison to the Elderscrolls online one. I kind've want to cuddle with the one Zenimax Online is making.

In regards to Morrowind's Ogrim. You can notice upon first glance, the Ogrim's eye appears to be red. If you take a closer look you'll notice that it actually has little yellow beadie eyes.

Perhaps this can be incorporate into the final textures?

Take a look at the comp for a quick reference!

Clearly the nipple ring grows into a Clannfear.

Clannfear reproductive system confirmed.

Not sure if it's canon, but I heard somewhere that as a rite of passage adolescent Ashlanders were given a ring and would have to sneak up to an Ogrim and pierce their nipple.  If they succeeded and lived, this would prove their bravery, skills as a scout, and Azura's granting them favor through their dumb luck.

Even if most Ogrims don't have nipple rings, having an alternative model that shows up from time to time with one would be cool.  I think it would be awesome to have this tradition mentioned and maybe have a little side quest where you have to rescue some young Ashlanders who managed to give an Ogrim a nipple ring and just pissed him off something fierce.

Even if it turns out to not be canon, it SHOULD be, dammit!

Karma: -1 (1 votes)

I can't find anything mentioning it. Do you remember where you heard it?

Yeah, it was on a now defunct forum, psychodogstudios.net.  They were the guys who made the Better Bodies mod for Morrowind.  A lot of the guys there were lore buffs, but I can't know if this was from Kirkbride or not.  It stuck I my head, though, as it just sounds awesome.  We could probably get Kirkbride's blessing!  :p

I couldn't help but noticed that ESO changed their Ogrim (the one on the bottom) after they got blasted for making it look cartoony. The one above it is their redone version and I cant help but think they stole Ravanna look. Coincidence, maybe not?

[External image] u knowe what that means we got secret admirers at bethesda /zenimax

also that picture of ravvana ogrim was before it got shorter isnt it

and eso was darn richt to fix there ogrim it was damm ugly

... Seriously? I don't see how they stole Ravanna's look at all. They based it on the original Ogrim, whereas Ravanna started with it but made them tall and such. Ravanna's isn't as fat, doesn't have black horns everywhere, all around different body shape. They made the Ogrim's colors duller so it's not as cartoony, that's hardly stealing someone else's look.

Karma: -1 (3 votes)

Groan...you take things a little too literally Serithi. But still I'll take your avatar picture is a photo of you in real life, no eyes to see with.

I can see just fine, i still don't see how they stole Ravanna's look. They have a roughly similar color scheme, that's it. It's the scheme the TES3 Ogrim had. It's like saying every FPS after CoD4 is a copy of CoD, despite the fact everything CoD's done has already been done before it.

They were blasted for the cartoony look, so they toned it back to something more like the TES3 Ogrim. You can hardly call it stealing Ravanna's look when Ravanna used the TES3 scheme anyway.

EDIT: Unless you jokingly said they stole it? You know that stuff doesn't translate well over the internet.
