I know that everyone is elbows deep in making new assets and setting things up in the CK, but I have an idea that could help new recruits hit the ground running.
I'm very new myself and have had to track down quite a bit of information to catch-up technologically, but even beyond that, I feel that a Tutorials forum will help the brand new understand our standards and practices.
We could have a little introduction that lets people know which software we use, guidelines for polycounts and texture sizes, standards for how far we can stray from lore, etc....
We could also add software specific tutorials and techniques.
This forum wouldn't really be a discussion based forum, more just an organized and stickied list of topics to point everyone in a unified direction.
I know this sounds like a lot of work, and it is. I'm not qualified to do it, so I'm pretty much offering someone a big steaming heap of work. On the other hand, instead of answering the same question a hundred times, we could answer each question once and definitively. It could act as our FAQ and save a lot of time in the long run. It's something to consider.
