SHEOGORAD Landscaping progress - Designer GRIZZIK

Hi ALL, Grizzik here, I have been assigned the task of landscaping/developing the Sheogorad region in Skywind. I have decided to make this thread to periodically show my progress on the region and get your feedback on my work. Please feel free to post any tips and advice that will help me in the design of Sheogorad. Thanks!

UPDATE 1:

Here is a small example of some of the work I have been doing in the region. The before and after pictures I post below will show a few changes I have made. After talking with a few of you I understand that the Sheogorad landscape is much like that of Ireland and the British Isles with dark rich colors. Here are some inspirational pictures have been using:

Below are before and after pictures of my work:

Please be aware that this is just a "first pass" I know there is more i can do, but i would greatly appreciate your advice & tips on how i might be able to improve it, do i need more or less? Once i get your approval I will begin to design the rest of Sheogorad like the pics above. Thanks guys!

Make a list off all assets

Make a list off all assets that you need replaced with new models and textures, to give the place a unique feel. Best to replace assets before or during the time you work on the region then when its finished.

Thanks Sjors Boomschors,  I

Thanks Sjors Boomschors,  I will make sure to do that. Also, the above work is by no means a finished product, its just a "first pass" and once i get your guys feedback and the new assets i will begin to finalize the work. When its finalized and approved i will copy that work to the rest of Sheogorad. Thanks again!

What do you mean by "extra

What do you mean by "extra grass in our mod"? Is there too much grass on the landscape? or do i need to add a different kind of grass texture?

Looks fine to me from a purely aesthetic pov. Although, is it even supposed to be grassy?

I understand. I was told from

I understand. I was told from a few of the guys in the Developer chat that Sheogorad should look like the landscape of Ireland and the British Isles, so alot of dark rich colors of grass and rock. I posted the "inspirational pics" above that show what kind of look I was going for. I am totally okay with changing it if we need to though, just need to know what kinda of landscape we are going for? Thanks for the feedback guys! :)

Hey Grizzik, there was

Hey Grizzik, there was someone who had done quite a bit of work on Sheogorad in the past and had placed menhirs in the water to replace the weird stonehenge-like rock formations. It looked quite stunning and would be a great addition to your efforts as he literally replaced thousands of them. I'll try to hunt for the thread.

EDIT: There you go; http://tesrenewal.com/forums/skyrim/skywind-development-foru...

You should get in touch with firewolx to ask him if he still has the file of the edited Sheogorad on hand because I believe it was a very nice touch that people were receptive towards when he did it. He's fairly active so perhaps you could get his input on what he was doing and what you could improve ;)

Did you start all over again?

Did you start all over again? I gave you an .esp where I replaced all the old menhirs with new assets provided by Ravanna (I think). I replaced like a thousand stones with new varied assets.

Hey guys, Thanks for the

Hey guys, Thanks for the comments! My work above is just a very basic "first pass" at a small area in Sheogorad to get a sense of what it can/will look like. I am planning on redoing it in the final project, just wanted to get feedback on how it looks. Also i am going to wait for the new assets from eloth.

Firewolx, I do remember speaking with you and I do plan on working in your .esp so that i can have all of the stones in place (I Definitely don't want to replace another thousand stones, haha!). I don't seem to recall if you sent your .esp to me though. Can you please resend it?

Thanks again for the comments guys!  As soon as i get the .esp from Firewolx and the new assets from Eloth, I will start the primary landscaping of Sheogorad! :)
