Textures, Lighting, Shadows and OFC render distance...

Submitted by TwoPizza on

Hello to everyone, especially to developers;)) I am not new to Skyrim, was playing a lot of time, and during the useless internet surfing had noticed your project and since then I've got one question about: Textures, Lighting, Shadows and Render Distance.

Developers of Vanilla Skyrim were aiming at Xbox360 and PS3 during development time, so we saw the low-res textures, bad lighting , low-res shadows and low render distance in PC version of the game.

It better be more realistic light, more hight-res textures , more Weather effects in different parts of the skyrim, high-res shadows, and the most of all high render distance. Playing in Vanilla Skyrim, seeing low render distance just gets me;))

Will these problems be solved in the Skywind version?

Most of that is controllable from the INI files and has nothing to do with SkyWind. Of the ones that are valid. SkyWind will have higher minimum requirements that Skyrim as it has a lot more data to load. Textures are of higher quality. Not much can be done about lighting (Go get yourself a ENB and tweak).

We will be using a custom Object LOD generator (Developed by myself) to generate low/medium/high detail LOD. You will require quite a beafy machine to be able to run the highest detail LOD (Otherwise expect a tonne of ILS).

What about the GTX 670 + Core i5 3450(4 cores x 3.10 GHz(3.40Ghz Turbo)  +8 GB ram ?: ) Will I have at least 50 fps?

No way  to know at this time. I have two GTX 690's and I run at pretty much 90 FPS in most places, dropping down to 60-70 FPS in built up places. No ILS even with full detail LOD. Thats about the best I can tell you.
