So I have been thinking that I will post any new stuff on this page so that I dont have too many random threads. Any concepts, sketches, 3d work, etc. will probably end up here.
This concept is of my interpretation of the Nordic fur armor. I drew inspiration from the Skyrim leather armor. I was thinking of how it reminded me of the nordic scale armor from Solstheim in the Bloodmoon expansion so I made this with that in mind. Hopefully I will be able to make a concept of that armor as well to match.

I'm liking this concept alot Natterforme, hope to see this made into an actual in game armor set!
A concept of my interpretation for the Nordic Mail armor from the Bloodmoon Expansion.

i rather enjoy that natter, i like the fur
the nordic mail looks like is from the northern water tribe from the Last air bender. I like it!
I like designs, though the one thing I'd do differently would be expose the mail around the belly on the Nordic Mail, like the original.
New updates to my Dwemer armor concept. I redesigned the base suit to more like a steampunk/industrial work coverall. The armor pieces, which are actually pieces of a scientific environmental suit, will be added over this base clothing. I always thought of the dwemer armor being like a hazmat suit for doing dangerous experiments near the active volcanoe. It always looked like a steampunk ironman suit but I dont think I will go down that route.
First image is my original concept. The second is the new design for the base coveralls. The images after that are inspiration and ideas.
Again this is all concept and open to change.
This is a WIP of the full suit in greyscale. I would like some feedback and critique please. Feel free to do paint overs or sketches.
First WIP of my Dragon Forged Ancient Nord Armor. This is the first pass with mostly base meshes. I plan on adding detail later. Feel free to leave critique and whatever.
very good modelling on the hard edges of armour but you'll need to be careful of the crease level when you subdivide.
This is what Ive been doing today. Mostly adding detail to the horns and redoing parts of the helmet. I also added bolts to the little mounts for the horns.
This pic is for critique for the front and back skirt. I was originally planning on putting this design on the helmet but it looks like it might be better suited to the skirt.
Chest and Pauldrons Detail Update. First image is the details. The second one is a potential design decal mask on the pauldrons.
Edit: Third image is retopoed lines raised.
Next update. Added detail to more parts, started adding cuts and scratches. Had to redo some parts because of noise problems.
WIP of the Helmet. I want to say that Im about 90% done with it. The only thing left for it is that I need to add the decals on the side ( like the original had).
the hammer blow effect is a tad strong, and each alpha is 2x too small, for the general effect of striking a hammer to shape metal.
If u did it on a layer effect its easier to done it down and add another one, for bigger hammer dents, with more irregularity.
That armour looks awesome! I agree that the hammer blows look too deep - a light indentation would probably be better, but up to you. :)
Also, any chance for a variant with some kind of simple cloth shirt underneath the armour? Not to be a pain in the butt, but the option for that would be awesome.
Update to Helmet:
New update and fur tests. I also redid the horns on the helmet so now they dont look like putty.
consider taking the base of each horn and adding some metal to it like the end of a sleeve or a ring around the stump.
Awesome :) I don't know how much extra work this would cause, but I think the helmet would look even cooler if u made the hammer indentations a bit more irregular, some shallower or bigger than others :)
This is should be the last image of high poly for the helmet. The high poly for the helmet should be done now, unless I get some feedback that demands otherwise:
Eloth wanted me to look into remaking the Morrowind soul gems. Here is a basic line up of all four in a low poly dynamesh. Ill be adding more detail in the next pass.
old style huh? looks like they can use some uniform.
I really dig the old style, I'm excited to see how these turn out!
Second pass, going into low poly stuff soon.
Update on Soul Gems. All pieces are now in Low Poly and UV mapped. Normal maps are mostly done but need some tweaking. Next step after that is the diffuse/texture map and add some color.
I noticed that the Grand Soul Gem is missing the "ring" border around it in the lower poly version. Just wanted to point that out in case it was overlooked. :) For all I know it may have been intentional...
It is intentional. It was giving me problems with the normals so I left it out for now.
A view of the Petty Soulgem in Sketchfab. I dont know why I havent used this site yet. Still needs some work:

Before it rendered in it looked slightly questionable... :P
Looks great though!
Just took a quick look at your mesh and Im thinking that you should quickly re-topo it, 90% of the tris on the mesh are currently un-used (Don't add to the overall form) And it could be quickly reduced to around 60 tris (possibly even less!)
I'll upload an image of a suggested flow, It also shouldn't be too hard to keep the UV map looking the same
Any help you could give me erik would be a great help and a blessing.^^
First tests with the Lesser Soulgem.

All five in a row. Textures still being worked on. The only thing left to do is make the bases for the greater and grand gems and then implementing them into the game.
Nice. I just hate last one still from Morrowind.
It looks like should be bigger than previous, but that wasnt.
Finally finished the soul gems. They are now ingame and work. Eloth is probably going to add them into the next update unless something comes up. Here is a pic.^^

They look good. Go Natty Go!!!
First afternoon of working on the Orcish Armor, which apparently I am now working on.
@Dragomir- If you want to paint over/improve on your previous concepts or just want to throw ideas out there feel free.

Maybe horns can be more small and decorative?
I agree with Alysander, The horns could be much shorter, Possibly curving forward?
post the concept art, if people complain about design, direct them to the thread where drago posted the idea almost a YEAR ago.

I hope that can be combined with decor horns from: http://static2.nexusmods.com/15/mods/110/images/22793-1-1345...
except horns and paudrons, armor is perfect.
IMO orcs as best armourers must be clean practical.
but this is only opinion, mod shouldnt be perfect.
Low tier stuff - pure functionality. High tier stuff - ceremonial and ornate, that includes Orcish.

I'd really like two sets of orcish - one that is more like the one from Morrowind, originating from Orsinium - ornate, state of art, medium-heavy and very protective. Something worthy for Umbra to wear, and that's the one I painted in the concept.
Second idea was to make another one that is lighter, more functional and barbaric almost, still echoing the mastery of orcish smithery. Something slightly more like the one from Skyrim, because orcs we meet in Skyrim aren't from Orsinium. They're Orc nomads from tribes, and these would be seen as bandits and raiders across Vvardenfell. I haven't made a concept for it, but I'd base it very close on the concept art from Morrowind:
It holds resemblance to Oblivion's fur armour, so I'd definetly use it as a reference, as well as adding some elements from Skyrim Orcish.
But yeah, that was a disgression to explain why it's so ornate and... Horny :P
As for the model, it needs to be way more bulky. I know it's a sketch, but even on the most skinny bodytype it needs to look like it has some layers of metal, leather, padding and clothing under it. Right now it's really tight fitting to a really skinny body, looks especially silly around the shoulders. I really love the boar on the chest though ;)
Here's a rough repaint of how it would more or less look on the skinniest body:

So will there be alternative low-tier helm and body armor (with obl. mongol style)?
No idea if there will be, that was just my idea and what I'd really like. Whether we have modellers, and if the modellers have the strength and time to do it is the question. It's not really up to me what's getting done (just how it's supposed to look :P).
I have a suggestion, and no it is not a mod. I saw a person in the skyblivion forums that in several weeks completed over a dozen armors for skyblivion. We could ask him for help.
These were ports, converted from Oblivion into Skyrim engine, not his own models.
