Stronghold Script Issues

Submitted by OldSmeller on

I have been having a few issues with house quests specifically ones that have scripts in them. Namely my stronghold is fully built as I am grandmaster of HH.

However the only building there is a tower. I found scripts in the construction set that would resolve my issue but I have no idea how to apply or activate specific lines of a script while in game. Please advise.

Any chance Explaining some of the Issues to see if they are in (.esm ) Issues or Issues you would like to Change to Suit your Game.

I have nothing special. The issue I am having is the script isnt triggering properly. Of course I could make an esp that only functions to activate the parts mission. I wanted to know if there was an easier way like punching something into the console

What do you mean the script isn't triggering properly? Did you go through the Stronghold Quest? If so what's the last quest entry? Are you using OBSE in the latest version?

Yes Yes.

The quest finished. The buildings are not there.

When you look at the quest in the construction set there are specific scripts accociated with different stages of the quest. I want to know how to trigger these scripts direct.

Otherwise in order to make the buildings appear I will have to write an esp that only does just that and have that trigger. That seems like a nusiance.

There's only one script that enables Markers which are parented to the different buildings. Morroblivion handles things a little differently from Morrowind.

Did you use any console commands to advance the quests, are you sure the last entry in your journal is "The final stage of my stronghold should be complete."? Because if it is and you didn't use the console, the script worked as intended but the problem lies elsewhere.

I did have to advance the quest artificially because it would not on it's own.

The script itself doesn't appear to be bugged, you must have missed something along the way. Advancing the quest through the console was the worst thing you could have done, there's not really any way to undo that except through further messing with the game.

Yes I know. I had no choice though.

My question remains, how do I go about executing specific sections of a script within the game client?

The thing is: You can't. This particular script is conditioned to run at certain quest stages which you have skipped.

However there is something that might work.

Go to where the manor should be. Open the console and type:

spoilerprid 0100A60A

enable

prid 0100A60B

enable

prid 0100A60C

enable

I can't guarantee this will work though.

Thanks I will try this.

I did technically do all the stages just not in the right order. For whatever reason it would not progress past  a certain point so I opted to progress it artificially.

It worked perfectly!

Thank you so much for this fine advise.

Glad to hear it :)  And please, whenever you're stuck or you think a quest is bugged, report it here before trying things that might mess up your game.
