Morroblivion Project Logo

I think it's a great idea. This never would have occurred to me.

I think maybe reverse the Oblivion symbol and Morrowind triangle so the Oblivion logo is behind. That way you don't have to jam it in so tiny to make it fit.

But please don't get bored now! I'm looking forward to the rest of the dishes and Dwemer items!

Could you match the original "Morrowind" font and type "Morroblivion," or is that not possible?

I am sory but I won'T be able to find Morrowind font, however I can use a little bit more mediaval font.

Start with Oblivion Logo. Big.

Then put Morrowind Triangle in front.

The only thing that bothers me about the logo I made is the space between the M-O and the O-N.  I'd probably squish it together a bit more.  I threw the thing together pretty quickly, so that's not bad for a few minutes XD

I am somewhat concerned about our use of the logo in the first place (the Morrowind logo that is in the upper left hand corner), as there are some potential trademark issues with this and all logos.

We should really have no logo at all, or something completely different from both those of both Oblivion and Morrowind, and definitely not a "DLC" appellation, since that could be taken as "official content" which could put us in a whole mess of legal problems, i.e. Bethesda could accuse us of impersonating them. 

This is similar to the way you couldn't start a website called "bethesdamods.com" cause people COULD think that it was an official Bethesda page, and then Bethesda would have a legal basis for A) best case, cease and desist letter or B) worst case, suing to take the site down and claiming monetary damages and trademark infringement.

Bethesda is a corporation like any other and while it is in their best interest to have an active mod community because the mods are a complementary good for their products, it is also in their best interest to make sure that people know that third party mods are not official and not made by Bethesda, as a poor-quality or questionable mod could damage their reputation and the value of their products. 

We should always err on the safe side of this balancing act (hence the first two questions in the FAQ, and all of the disclaimer stuff at the end).

Thermador,  I just threw it together quickly without any intention of this being any official Morroblivion logo. It's just fun to compare my work with others.  And if Darth wants to know how I did it, I'd be happy to tell him so he can learn *hint hint*. 

If was to make a unique Morroblivion logo it simply would just be a silhoutte of a house found in seyda neen on a similar triagle background and it just saying Morroblivion.  It wouldn't take very long at all to throw together and it would make it look official in a unique way.

Actually writing that made me want to make one.  I'll throw one together just as soon as I finish watching this new ep of Family Guy.

Okay.  Here's a legit legally safe logo.  Mostly legally safe.

The second image i bothered to fix the Morroblivion writing because it was bothering me a bit.  And I also got rid of the line on top of the triangle so it's not a scale. 

Also I spelled Resurrection wrong.  I'll fix it after I get comments, criticisms, etc

EDIT: By the way if I am not mistaken you logo is not transperent, you should change that. 

It takes a second to make something transparent. 

Also, the first series didn't copy you, it was just my idea of what it should look like.  Though as Thermador said, we probably shouldn't use anything with the original logo to prevent any copyright issues.  I might even need to pull the word Morrowind out of it too.  Though, I wouldn't be doing any of that unless someone is like, "BAM! Cease and decist!" or, "Quick! Change it before we get a C&D!" Then I'd be obliged to jump in and go *erase erase*

And far as people doing something better than you, it's okay.  It's normal, there's a lot of people better than me.  I also have many years of art experience from creating 3d models to creating logos and general images. If you're interested, I'd be happy to teach you how I did it.  You seem much more dedicated to the project than I am, I just threw a logo together because I couldn't help myself after seeing yours.

Here's another with the silt strider in the background which I believe compliments morroblivion more because it includes a morrowind specific thing.

I like the silt strider one, can you add a thicker stroke to the font (maybe 1px more) so that it stands out from the background a bit more?

Don't forget you can shove pretty much whatever you want back there.  Even atronauches. Or tacos.

That second logo's got my vote . After all, ya can't take down Dagoth Ur, the 6th house, and Mehrunes Dagon on an empty stomach.

Guessing we're all done with the logos.  So, whoever is in charge of making logos, are you going to use the taco, silt strider, or the one that looks like the one from Bethesda.

I've also looked into it and a lot of people use the oblivion logo.  They just change the color without any legal recourse.  So taking the first one I made and changing The Elder Scrolls DLC to The Resurrection of Morrowind could be a good option.

I like the original from Darth South the best.

I am not wild about the silt strider or the taco.

Seriously though, I like the one with the oblivion logo in the background. I think it could loose the corner runes, because they seem a bit redundant with the large one in the middle, unless the bottom one is replaced with something else. Any thoughts there? 

I don't like crunchy tacos. Now, maybe a Snickers Bar...

I still think it would be better if the Oblivion logo was the largest and behind, then the Morrowind Triangle in front. It would balance better and not look like it's going to tip over.

Also it turns out it's a completely different letter when it doesn't have the dot in the middle, so you guys can ignore my comment about the corner runes. Probably ought to be there.

Personally I would like to see a 3 dimensional stylized color logo that matches the theme of the website better... Maybe a blue triangle with gray borders, something that pops out at you... The one dimensional black and white is kind of limited, considering the many possibilities available in photoshop and indesign etc

This is an icon created with David's idea and thermador's colors... But seriously I am not sure, if it could be read easily if we put it to website. My color of stroke is the same color with website's theme. Maybe a little brightening and darkening can be needed. I agree with David on Silt Strider and Taco icons, but DLC one is worth thinking about it.

Haha guys, the taco one was a joke.  The silt strider and DLC ones were potential candidates.

I actually ended up making another one that I didn't post that had the akavari symbol that's found on the gold coins.  Turns out it's the same one you find on the default morrowind logo.  Which is why I didn't bother putting it on.

Related to making a 3 dimension object, I think he meant something like /|\ then with the writing going on it or something.  Eh I don't know.  I don't usually put 3D drawings on a 2D site. It's not the right kind of contrast you want.  However, using something that matches the colors is a possibility.  Then again, this site has very normal colors which could take away from the logo's appeal.  Something that I did but again didn't submit was a color logo, non 3D, but had the same triangle back but had the akatosh symbol in gold and used some lighting effects.  It's pretty much the default morrowind one but.. goldish?  I can post it if you guys are interested.  It doesn't look the greatest, but then again I didn't spend more than a few minutes on it when I was mulling out ideas around the time I made the silt one.

I meant the way Henshu has it. Morrowind and Oblivion are both large. It is a merged game, not either logo way smaller than the other.

Try making the white parts blue, and the blue outlined in some offsetting color, like yellow or gold or black.

Well the logo we currently have at the top just has a transparent background, and that seems to work pretty well. 
 The one I threw together would look something like this, for example:

I have been wondering if moving the triangle to the top of the Oblivion logo would work...so the top of the symbol and triangle are on the same line...

a cool idea would be to warp the morrowind triangular part of the logo and make it have a more ruggedappearence to match the oblivion part of the logo, and roughen out the top as well

I did my version in Windows Paint...so anyone with Photoshop or other image editor would be a much better choice for a final version. I like all the options so far. It's hard to pick one. They are all good!

I personally do not like the Morrowind Triangle at the top; to me that looks jammed together and cluttered.

I much prefer Henshu's version with the subject line "Font!"

How's This look? I kept the triangle kind of at the top, but also inside the O. I couldn't find a font I liked, and so just went with actual morrowind and oblivion Logos that I found. Plus, that way it really is Morr-O-blivion The smaller version has a slightly brighter part of the O to compensate for the small text.

It's a bit big, which is fine if that's what we're going for. Though, I still really like Dark South's origional pic. It's much clearer on smaller levels, which makes it a better Icon, if that's more what we're going for.
