Getting to Morrowind

Getting to Morrowind

I assume that you've already got Morrowind (and its expansions) and Oblivion (patched to 1.2), and downloaded Morroblivion.

Okay, your first step is to extract the Morroblivion files. You need 7-zip or some other similar file extractor to do it. Just extract them to a folder on your desktop, or whereever.

Next, once everything's extracted, navigate to that folder and inside will be a file called Morroblivion.ini. Open that up with a text editor, and we're going to change a couple things. The original should look like this:

; Initialisation file containing Path and Files to use
; with Morroblivion ESP Converter and NIF Converter
; lines to be ignored begin with ";", to uncomment a line
; just remove the ";"

; Morrowind and Oblivion paths, don't forget to change them
; if you did not install the 2 games in the default folders

Morrowind=C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Morrowind\
Oblivion=C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\

; Master files to convert with ESP Converter,
; ignored by NIF Converter

Master 0=Morrowind.esm
Master 1=Tribunal.esm
Master 2=Bloodmoon.esm
Master 3=PNOG.esm
;Master 4=
;Master 5=
;Master 6=

; Archive files to use for conversion,
; used by both ESP Converter and NIF Converter

Archive 0=Morrowind.bsa
Archive 1=Tribunal.bsa
Archive 2=Bloodmoon.bsa
Archive 3=PNOG.bsa
;Archive 4=
;Archive 5=
;Archive 6=

; Mod files to merge with during ESP/ESM conversion,
; ignored by NIF Converter

Mod 0=Better Clothes_v1.0.esp
Mod 1=CanadianIce Robe Replacer.esp
Mod 2=Armures de femmes.esp
;Mod 3=
;Mod 4=
;Mod 5=
;Mod 6=
;Mod 7=
;Mod 8=
;Mod 9=

What you want to do next is place a semicolon ( ; ) in front of anything you don't want to convert. For instance, if you don't own Tribunal or Bloodmoon, you'd place a ; in front of the master and archive lines of those expansions. If you own both, just leave them as they are.

Place a ; in front of the lines containing PNOG, unless you're French, because those lines have to do with the French version of the game. Also, near the bottom of the file you'll see some stuff like Mod 0=. Place a ; in front of those if you don't have those Morrowind mods, or just don't want to convert them.

Once you're done editing the file, save and close it, and return to the folder.

Now, there will be a file called ESP_conv. Double click that to start the conversion process. It will take a while to convert them, so sit back or go do something else for a bit. It'll let you know when it's done.

When it's finished, exit out and open up Oblivion. Click Data Files at the launch screen, and enable Morrowind_ob.esm. Currently, you don't really need to enable Tribunal_ob.esm and Bloodmoon_ob.esm.

Also! look into downloading the CNME mod. This mod will place a ship in the Anvil docks that takes you to Seyda Neen.

That's all, enjoy!

Read the attached ReadMe for further details and information. I just translated it from French with Google Translate, so the English might be a bit off. But I don't speak French, so it'll have to do. Smiling

COnverter not Working

men, the converter is not working, i've just reinstalled morrowind, tribunal and oblivion, and still keep saying that any of the files does not exist, can u help me¿?

Works for me

I downloaded it, installed it into a folder on the desktop, made the instructed edit to the .ini and then ran the program. It worked fine. First test I had no landmass, just water, then I re-read the readme again and set the load order properly. It works awesomely. Everything is there all right.

This program is so full of awesome it makes me weep. It's cool to wander Morrowind, it's a seamless integration as far as I'm concerned. It's like Oblivion just got a LOT bigger.

ESP_conv crashes

The ESP_ conv file crashes in the middle of conversion. Here is the latest message displayed in the terminal before it crashes:

Welcome to NIF converter v1.08
creating G:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\Data\Meshes\morro\d
Converting d\Ex_Redoran_barracks_01_a.nif to G:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks
\Oblivion\Data\Meshes\morro\d\ExURedoranUbarracksU01Ua.nif

Does anyone know what the problem is? (In case there's any confusion, typing G:\ is not an error. My G: drive is most people's C: drive. Long story.)
