[Relz] Hi-Res Texture packs and Normal Maps
See Eloth's Visual Overhaul for a better alternative ![]()
Installation:
Download and extract the following to your Oblivion directory (overwrite old files):
----------------------------------------------------------------
Textures and Normal Maps: Download Here. (304 MB .7z file; extracts to 653 MB)
-----------------------------------------------------------------
NOTE: Please do not install these unless you really feel the need to ... these meshes will cause things to "fall through" the ground\tables etc.
Meshes: Download Here. ( 27.6 MB .7z file; extracts to 117 MB)
Some of these are required by the texture packs (improved UV maps) ... others are included because the meshes have undergone a Tangent Space update.
***Please Backup your original files before installing***

Apparently Imageshack is an unreliable service ... quite a few of my images are slowly going missing.
Please find a Google Picassa Slideshow in the first post.

I wasn't sure what this was when you first put this up, but now that I see what it is, this is Fantastic!
Since this is for Morroblivion, it should be compatible with nearly everything!
This has obviously taken a great deal of effort to track these all down and make Normal Maps for them all.
Thank You!
Hi, I downloaded the pack but for some reason it seems a bit odd, i've currently got an older version of morroblivion so i'm not sure if that has anything to do with it:
Just tested this in game myself and only time it shows up like that with texture size of small and medium.
Looks and works fine on the large texture setup.
Do i need to download the full instalation 1 and 2 again??
@PGZielony: No, you just need to download the files on the first post.
I set the texture size to large, looks great now, thanks.
Just installed your texture/mesh pack, and I am super impressed! You did a good job, while sticking close to the original Morrowind look and feel. Thank you!
Just an update on this, I am using just the textures and not the meshes out of this texture pack (i.e. just install the 'textures' folder only) and it's working fine, no problems with stuff falling through the floor.
Is there any reason why you shouldn't do this?
A very handful of things might have a problem with the UV map ... but it shouldn't be a problem ... I thik these are only some peices of clutter and one or two doors.
Otherwise I only added in the meshes because I thought that the normal maps will not work without updated tangent spaces ... if however they do work (i.e. you can see the 3d effect in the texture) ... then I guess there really is no need.
Yeah hi um did I install the Texture Pack wrong? because everything is pixilated?
Maybe i am the only, but for no reason i cant see the images D:
I don't see a major diff, its seem only up close that things look better, even more than a few feet away things become blurred so the over all effect is very limited. Balmora for example, the paved street look good, only in the few feet around the pc, outside of that the detail goes away to a brownish blur. Have I done something wrong, should I use the meshes?
I recall OB doing still kind of thing a little bit, but not to this extreme.
And I have been testing MW Overhauled recently and this does not happen. I did some more testing and I noticed its when the ground textures are on even ground with the pc, if say the ground is hilly(cruves up or down) the clarity stays high even into the distance.
Update, silly me I forgot OB does not have AA and AS by default! So I forced 4xAA and 16xAS and it made a big difference. The AS particularly so, now I can see your textures and fully appreciated the visual effect it has on the game. No longer does the ground get blurry a few feet away. Good job.
As I was testing this I noticed another thing, I lot of stuff does not have LOD versions, its there a mod or Overhaul that adds them to MorrOB, it would really help improve the look of the game.
I have been testing MorrOB a bit more and I dl the new Visual Overhaul for it. I decided to use the textures from this mod over the VO were available(about 48 textures or so). There very well done. Great job. Connarys textures are impressive.

I read/heard some place that you can get best of both world by setting the game to HDR and setting the antialising on your vid card for the game because OB only supports one or the other doing this get you HDR and antialising
I personally use timeslip's fake HDR with oblivion's antialiasing.
I also set AS 16x in my video card the difference is amazing, more so that AA.
The links work fine for me. Make sure to READ what it says ![]()
Sorry, we are unable to scan this file for viruses.
The file exceeds the maximum size that we scan. Download anyway
Yes i saw that...but after clicking on download anyway...blank page on mozilla firefox . If i try on IE , "error 404 document may not exist (translation from french); two other friends tested it and same result..
Apparently a problem had developed with the old link, I tried myself and could only download when signed in to google and not otherwise.
I've updated the link, hopefully it should work now.
it works very well now ! thanks a lot !
This textures are awesome! Great job
But heres my problem:
http://i52.tinypic.com/neu9he.jpg
http://i51.tinypic.com/bgwyu8.jpg
And I have only pasted the texture files like all the other mods
I believe that happens because of a faulty texture path in some of the meshes that come with Eloth's Visual Overhaul.
I think eloth's uploaded a fix for it ... but I am not sure.
I am not really sure how I fixed that. I just paste your texture files and then I paste the visual overhaul again. And it is fixed. But In far distance It looks awful. I read in this thread about the same prob and I didn't understand how to fix it. Anyway now I have a new problem xD
Try running TES4LODGen to generate new distant land files. http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=15781
Also try changing the view distance of things in your Video settings.
Kefka turned on Antialiasing (can be done via the Oblivion Graphics Options) and Antistropic Filtering (needs to be done via the Control Panel for your Graphics card).

You need Nifskope and open the mesh file to change the path in it, I found it was
just \textures\<filename> and need to change to \textures\morro\<filename>
Thats if my memory servies me well, it normal doesn't but you'll get the idea and find the path easy enough
I've noticed if you install just Eloth's Visual Overhaul, you're still left with the original crappy looking doors among other things. So it's a good choice to install Hashmi's High-Res Textures and then Eloth's Visual Overhaul. Now you have great textures everywhere ![]()
Again, thank you for these awesome textures Hashmi!
your download link doesnt work for me like for some reason no matter what i ck google docs wont work.
Link still works you do not have to sign up for Google,,Can use IDA it is
Internet Download Accelerator for www.westbyte.com,,Has browser Intergration just Disable Intergration when not Needed Free.
Yes, it was incorporated in the very first release of the complete installation if I remember correctly.
