Advice on making the AI
1. Know what you are doing
Seriously, this is probably the most obvious and the most important point. CS Wiki is your friend. Consult with it when you're not sure. (Or ask on the forums, this works too)
2. Don't create excessive packages
There is no need to create a new AI package if the same result can be achieved with already existing one. For example, don't create a new wander package for every NPC, but use existing aaaExploreEditorLocation instead
3. Don't modify vanilla packages
When you double click the package in NPC package list, you'll edit it's base form, meaning that all NPC using the same package will change their behavior. If you need to edit something, create a new package instead (but keep in mind the previous advice)
4. Use animations
This is one of the biggest immersion boosters possible. Really, no one gives a crap if NPC eats 3 times a day or 2 times a day. But when a blacksmith uses his forge, alchemist brews potions, fisherman goes fishing and scholar reads books or takes notes this immediately makes a huge difference.
Morroblivion already includes some additional animations set up (they are under IdleAnimations\Morroblivion branch). Of course, you can always add new ones (preferably under the same branch, just to keep things organized)
5. Test, test, test...
Last but not least, always test your AI ingame. And I do mean always, no matter how sure you are that it'll work.

You, sir, seem to be on fire.
Keep up the awesome work!
That'll show those lazy miners, always standing around doing nothing!
For real, qwertyasdfgh, you work faster than anyone I've ever seen on this project. It would take me forever to set up AI like that.
Winnnnnnaaaarrrrr!!!
Dude, have you fallen from heaven or somethin? If you can finish what you have started, I will not be able to find any adjective to describe the situation.
Haha, I'm not sure I can find any adjectives for that picture of Picard. lol
But ya, dude qwertyasdfgh, you really are on a role!
This just gets better and better!
Steph: That's just weird. Is that a mod?
*Cough cough, where did you get it?*
Thanks fot the comments :)
Mines are almost complete. I'm hoping to update the download tomorrow.
@iceburg333
yes the clothing is from an unfinished mod called DUKECITY_-30264.7z. It's at the Nexus. I modified most of the clothing to work with Roberts Female and put them in my game. I think the original mod was using one of the cartoon female bodies. Don't know which one. The pose is from an obscure posing mod that I can't remember the name of it. I just put it all together, made a screenshot, added the text, and cropped it to fit nicely in the forum.
I have no permission to redistribute any of the changes I made so I just use it myself.
Engage. Warp 4!
Download link updated.
Changes:
- All mines done
- Included a missing file
steph,
That pic reminds me of the old US army posters with Uncle Sam "Your Country Needs You!",but your pic would read as "Star Trek Needs You!".
Cool! pic.:)
Querty,
Great! work,thanks! for the update.
Thanks for the info Steph.
Hahaha.
Warp 4 it is!
Engage!
File was merged into main esm in v051
Note: for some reason during the merging process one record (new animated object) got corrupted.
Here`s a quick fix: http://www.mediafire.com/?g5ap197mpie64zu
Just a little picture showing some new AI

Cool!
Looks sick!
This is not directly AI-related, but since I worked on this as part of AI project, I think I'll post it here
Custom sitting animations
Check out the screenshot
This means, I now have the system to create unique sitting animations, working for both player and NPCs
New screenshot
Dude! Smoking skooma pipe, wow!!! I am seriously amazed.
Yaeah, that's really! Neat! :D
Great work! :D
Thanks)
The animation itself isnt my creation, I just assembled everything to work together.
Did I mention that cushions work well with all the vanilla animations?
Those new Poses look really nice and natural. Playing around and making new an animation is really fun. It does take a long time to make something look good.
I made the animation in this video, Mr_Siika did the rest. To bad it never got to be a real mod. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nMSNlb9va-o&list=UUrAS7Wea4CGFsrTpDA3jnwg&index=19&feature=plcp
I updated the first post to reflect current project status
+ new screenshot (proves that I'm still working on this :D)
Thank you so much for your continued work!
This looks totally awesome! Thanks for continuing to work hard on this!!
Very nice work! Amazing stuff.
Shrine of Maar Gan
That is epic!!!
I think that is better than any AI I have seen in vanilla Oblivion, and all I have to go off of is a still image. :D
Keep up the good work. :)
And finally it is here: Maar Gan Release
Features:
- Daily schedules for most of the NPCs, with exceptions for a publician and caravanner, since I think it's better for gameplay these two don't move.
- NPCs go inside during Ashstorms (except for the guards)
- Restored missing dialogue to rent a room in Andus Tradehouse
- Brand new furniture type - sitting cushions (completely with animations)
- Guards actually patrol the village instead of wandering around like a retards
- Fixes for pathgrids and landscape outdoors so NPSs don't get stuck
- Numerous fixes for floating and clipping objects
- New idle animation: smoking skooma
- Reworked idles: drinking and cooking using proper Morrowind clutter (not generic Oblivion one)
- Retextured skooma pipe
Merged in master in v054
Very, very good :)
Is any more progress being made on this? Everything looks amazing! I didn't even know you could sit on cushions, thanks qwerty!!
Yes, there is some progress, but it's kinda slow. I'm working on Sadrith Mora (and possibly other Telvanni settlements) now.
qwertyasdfgh wrote:
Have not seen anyone smoking since i have been playing Morroblivion this all i could find any way to fix
Yeah, previous version of TES4Gecko corrupted ANIO records when merging.
Use 'Animation Fix' esp from here until it's fixed in the master.
Thanks qwertyasdfgh setting up now
I have updated the first post to reflect the current project status (and, honestly, it doesn't look as good as I'd wanted it to)
I've also added some tips on AI making. Not that I expect anyone else to work on AI anytime soon, but it won't hurt anyone by being there :)
I have exams atm but it is very useful for the Bloodmoon AI. It's partially done for the three miners but the problem is that there isn't a mining bunkhouse closeby so even if I put bedrolls outside, they don't sleep in them for some reason...

This is more to Animations side not the AI clip for NPC Breathing and get wet in the rain same as Player and all Creatures. Looks better than them Standing around like Stunned mullet
I'm not sure what do you mean. Video shows Get Wet mod and an animation replacer and both are unrelated to Morroblivion.
Here're some screens from improved AI for Hla Oad. (will be included in v059 master, when it's done)
Looks cool! Fishing time.
I did a bit of Ai work a while back in Tel Branora that seemed to work out fairly well, then dropped out of the online universe for a bit due to health / personal issues.
I think I can commit to some serious work on these projects again now so after I refamiliarize myself with the construction kit (it's been a while) I'll start knocking out areas no one else is working on.
Oh, I'll post which ones as soon as I'm ready.
That's great! There's still a lot of locations which could benefit from improved AI.
