New mod issues

Submitted by TheOldGuard on

I recently began to play Morroblivion with plenty of mods and everything was working just fine.

That is until recently when I tried to install new mods for it. I originally had Iceburg's HD Map replacement, but it seems that anytime I try to install a new mod (I tried Eloth's Tree Replacer, and Popo's Sitting in Morroblivion) the map will revert to the original size. I even tried reinstalling the HD map to no avail.

There is also a minor problem on an unrelated note. When I go to Solstheim the Holly bush texture/mesh has a black background. I'm not sure if it's the Bloodmoon texture replacer or not, or whether or not Eloth's plant replacer would fix it. But it really bothers me when I go to Solstheim and see strange black squares in the distance.

List of mods/addons that worked before:

Morroblivion Maps HD, Almalexia, Shivering Isles, Knights of the Nine, Shivering Isles Hound fixer, Morroblivion Conversation, Morroblivion Grass Mod (disabled), Chargen & Transport (disabled), Conjuration Spells (disabled), Morrowind_ob, Eloth Landscape & Grass (disabled), MuffinShare (disabled), nVidia Black Screen Fix, Oblivionized Enchants, Unofficial Oblivion Patch, Vvardenfell Imports.

Mods that made it change:

Eloth Tree Replacer, Sitting in Morroblivion

Thanks in advance for any help. Hopefully this can be resolved.

Hello !

I'm the one who's making "Sitting in Morroblivion" mod. After reading your post i gave another look to what my mod modifies in Tes4Edit and the only objects changed are CELL, because of the repositioning of all those furnitures, FURNITURE, for obvious reasons, and WORLDSPACE, for the references i had to move in exterior cells: none of these changes seems to conflict nor with HD Map replacement nor with Holly bush texture. I didn't install (yet) Eloth Tree Replacer, but if you want to verify what it touches open it in Tes4Edit togheter with other mods and verify eventual conflicts.

Bye!

I made the map.

I'd make sure that the map file is loading AFTER the mods that seem to be messing up. If that doesn't work alone, try re-downloading it and then doing the above. I don't think either Popo's or Hashmi's mods should effect mine, but that should help. Let me know :)

Happy modding!

ps. I've noticed that bush before. I wasn't runnning the tree replacer or Sitting in Morroblivion at the time though, so no clue about that one.

Also, trash the "Almalexia.esp." It's no good, and might cause problems. It makes a duplicate Almalexia just in case you're wondering.

Edit: On a side note, I'm glad someone is using my mod. Thanks!

Thanks for all the help.

Iceburg was correct it was the load order. It seems that BOSS wasn't ordering them properly. After installing Oblivion Mod Manager I fixed the issue with the map.

Unfortunantly the holly bush is still bugged. This is not because of the new mods either as I checked on a backup, and a new install of the Plant Replacer didn't fix it either. Could I manually fix this? And if I could where would I find the files to fix?

As for trashing Almalexia.esp would I need to download another mod for her or is she in game already?

I'm pretty sure she's in game already. If you're not sure, put it in your trash, play the game and make sure she's still there, and then you can delete it for good.

"When I go to Solstheim the Holly bush texture/mesh has a black background."

I'm having this problem as well. I went into the CS to see what nif the bush was. Apparantly, all of the holly bushes are like that. Oblivion\data\meshes\morro\o

FloraUBMUholllyU01

FloraUBMUholllyU02

FloraUBMUholllyU03

FloraUBMUholllyU04

FloraUBMUholllyU05

FloraUBMUholllyU06

Apparantly its being caused by Textures\morro\o\TxUBMUhollyU01.dds

and: Textures\morro\o\TxUBMUhollyUsnowU01.dds

I fixed the Holly Bushes by editing the two textures responsible. I'll ask David if he wants to add the fix to the support files. ;)

ps. Thanks for the confirmation, TheOldGuard.

EDIT: While going through for the holly bush, I found that a lot of the Bloodmoon Flora had the same problem. This file fixes all that. (All that I could find, anyhow). It updates 8 textures to not have the black surrounding the leaves / flowers.

If, after installing this, anyone finds any more black textures, send me a screenshot and I'll fix it real quick like.

Thanks, that fixed the black backgrounds.

That also means that all my bugs have been resolved. Thanks to everyone who helped.
