Oblivion fLASIng to desktop on Play

Hi there, newbie here so be kind. thank you.

names james. anyways, first installation of morrowblivion, with oblivion and morrowind etc went find, just could get the text to slow down for me to read then there after, every attemt to re install has gone weird and bonkers. so ive descided to just try play morrowind with MGE (morrowing graphics extender) and oblivion with mods etc, but! HERE IT COMES...! hehe.

I think as i pressed the oblivion launcher, i accidently pressed the uninstall button instead of exit at the bottom then there after, no matter what i seem to do, re install oblivion, it just pops up the launcher then when i press play the game flashes several times then goes back to desktop. whats happening! anyone help? please? :D i realy want to try play morrowind and oblivion propaly before skyrim comes to town so i can get the full experiance (yes i came into the elder scrolls rather late but im addicted now).

You forgot to patch the game!

What you see is totally normal.

Just reinstalling the game will not work.

We all know that there is more to it then that.

You forgot to patch the game to the latest version.

ok dokke, i'll give it a go. just each time i try to patch, the patches thats the official ones always seem to pop up a message saying something like old file not found, missing etc and then descides to abort patching. but the unofficial patches work. i'll check the games details see what it says its patched to. Morroblivion still not working, flashing as well as oblivion, so i'll check it out. thanks for the info there. i'll let you know how it goes.

You can use two Patch Versions:

- Default Oblivion

- Oblivion Shivering Isles

Don’t forget to take the one with the correct language support

hey there thanks again for your help, you been great. basicly all it was, was that id got the wronge patch, oblivion us patch instead of getting the uk one. that and i learnt that the game of the year edition really dont need to be patched, with the shilvering isles etc. well, that and ive learnt:

Install Oblivion GOTY

No need to install Knights of the Nine or Shivering Isles patches.

Install the TOOLS;

BOSS_1-65_Installer-20516-1-65

(when you Click on BOSS in WRYE BASH, the program opens up a html, just look at it and then close it as the bash program has re ordered your mods propaly for you.)

Downloadable content before patching
THEN SHOULD BE ABLE TO INSTALL; obse_0020 -AND THEN I CAN PLAY THE MODDED OBLIVION USEING obse_loader.exe

-------- then i can deal with the morroblivion etc accordingly which is what i did and, i got a menu replacer too and so it comes up with Morroblivion instead of oblivion, or morrowind. :D thanks again for your help.
