MOTF - Mainquest for Morroblivion - UPDATED

After reading some of the ideas some of you have for the Morrowind Mainquest, since I share my ideas in the past and people seem to like it, the idea is solid and includes the old mainquest... simple. Why? Because the Vvardenfell world is setup for it, and personally I don't wanna change it. And if you want to play in Vvardenfell without nothing, you can always download SoVvM also if you want to create a new mainquest, you have the empty map in SoVvM. Since we're talking about Morroblivion, this is not the case. The map is cut off from the other parts of Mundus, and I don't want to create "a link", so don't bring to me those ideas, you can always Join the SoVvM Team or ST Team. This is an introductory quest to justify how do you get to Morrowind in this period of time, a clear and nice way to introduce the Mainquest to the player. This quest features: A Dwemer Ruin. Two new NPC's. Various new Objects. New -small-Worlspace for Akatosh's Realm. INTRODUCTORY QUEST FOR MORROBLIVION BY DAVID WOLF: OPTIONAL: You can get the same quest from "Dizzy the Lazy" a new Altmer NPC Mage will be located in the Arcane University in case that you're not part of the Mage's Guild, you can get the Quest from her. Quest Update : "While in the Imperial City I heard a rumor about a Mage called Dizzy, it seems that's giving freelance work to Adventurers. I should go to the Arcane University grounds if I want to know more."

PART ONE
Quest name: The Dwemer Link Starts: Current Save Requires: Level 20 / Mages Guild Member (any rank) Quest Update : " Raminus Polus has contacted me about a new expedition in the Morrowind border, it seems they have found a Dwemer Ruin I should go there and speak with Atan Valar, the name of the ruin is Salhar and it seems that they found something odd in the core of the ruin" Then you have to travel to Salhar, once you arrive, get inside and speak with Atan Valar: Atan Valar : "Ho you're from the Arcane University, right? We found something... odd in the center of this ruin, we're trying to figure out what it is but luck is not in our side ...it seems" Player: "What's wrong?" Atan Valar: "The problem is we need to recover the technology and leave this place at once, we fear that this ruin is about to collapse. That R'shat is crazy! He calls that thing The Link!" Player: "What's that?" Atan Valar: "We don't know, it's some kind of Dwemer Artifact, but we have no idea what it does... I fear if we remove or touch this "Link", something terrible can happen... " Player: "Can you tell me where's R'shat?" Atan Valar: "You can find R'shat in the bottom of the ruin, beneath the Lava Works. But be careful please, everything in here is invaluable!" Quest Update: " Atan Valar, says that he's worry about this place and he seems even more worry about R'shat, a Khajiit Mage, he's working in the bottom of the ruin. It seems that a Dwemer Object has been found there, I need to talk R'shat if I want to know more about this place" You walk down the stairs to find R'shat casting spells and stuff: R'shat: "Who are you, and what are you doing here!? are you from the Arcane University!?" Player: "Yes, what is this place?" R'shat: "If you want information you better start reading the books in those shelves and make your own conclusions" Player OPTION 1: "And what are your conclusions about it?" Player OPTION 2: "Ok I will make my own conclusions" R'shat ANSWER 1: "Mmm.... well if you are interested I can share what I have discovered" R'shat ANSWER 2: "Go" Player: "Allright, go on" R'shat : "This is a Link, for what? A conection between the past and the future, the Dwemer's make amazing things... one of them is The Link, it contains information from the Ages, before you and I we're born. But knowing this information holds... consequences." Player: "And why? Just take the information and leave! This place isn't safe!" R'shat: "I can't ... is not that easy,it's not only information... knowing the things the link has to say is dangerous and not only that, the book "Talama Katlam" says: Taking this NOW as part of the FUTURE is incorrect, if you want to take DATA from the LINK, you have to make your PART in the PAST, have to NEREVAR YOU must be. I didn't understand it at the beginning, since the book is very old and translate the text is very hard. But now I get it... and I fear the worst." Player: "What do you mean?" R'shat: "Fool! If someone manages to enter the link, has to play the role of Saint Nerevar, the savior of Morrowind... the one who destroyed, Lord Dagoth Ur head of the Sixth House." Player: "I'm sorry I didn't know about it" R'shat: "You are young and fool, if someone fails, the future is uncertain, and Dagoth Ur ..." Player: "So there's something I can do here.. or this whole thing is in vain? In that case I think you and Atan should leave at once!" R'shat: "I'm sorry young mage, but you don't understand how serious this is... if some dumb adventurer enters the Link ... we are doomed, we need someone with skills and experience, also someone who knows the information about the Link. You should go!" Player: "But... this entire reality will change if I fail!" R'shat: "You are right, this is why you can't and you will not fail, or I will personally enter there and teach you a lesson Ah ah ah! (laugh)" Player: "How can I enter the Link?" R'shat: "I've been working on a spell, it will unlock the Link and open the portal that leads to the past, here let me show you how to do it (gives a new spell in the Players Inventory called Link Unlocker)" Player: "And what about me? I will woke up in Cyrodill or in Morrowind?" R'shat: "Well little mage, I'm not sure about it... you will... problaby woke up in some specific event in the life of the Nerevar, I hope not fighting Dagoth Ur o something similar. Anyways, that doesn't matter right now you need to hurry! (Collapse Sounds) Cast the spell and enter the link." Then the conversation ends and a falling rock kills R'shat, and everything starts to collapse. You must run into the Link Chamber and cast the spell. You will find yourself in a boat. Jiub: "Stand up... stand up... There you go.. You where dreaming...What's you name?..." Then you start the Morrowind Mainquest.
PART TWO
Quest name: The Dragon of Time Starts: Current Save Requires: Finishing the Morrowind Mainquest. After you destroy the Heart of Lorkhan. Quest Update : " I have destroyed Dagoth Ur's evil machinery, as this massive cave starts to collapse I'm feeling an overwhelming peace and tranquility coming into me. I'm falling into the void and my eyes spot a dragon flying in a nameless landscape." You wake up in a desert like place, you see a big dragon landing and then it takes a human form, approaching you: Akatosh : "Well done Nerevarine, you have destroyed Dagoth Ur and his ilk, by doing this you've gained my consideration and my special thanks, you have freed the world from a terrible blight and this will be eternally remebered." Player: "Who are you? Where I am?" Akatosh : "You are confused, I understand. You are standing in the chronic sands of my realm I'm Akatosh the God of Time. And you're now safe from the destruction of your mortal body, because you have become immortal in ways that now you can't imagine." Player: "My apologies, Lord! I didn't know, thanks for saving me." Akatosh : "Save you? You deserve more than that, you have saved the entire world from certain destruction, we the Gods, thank you for this and I have a gift, a divine power that will be useful to you. This is a power that will let you enter this period of time whenever is needed, cast the spell and you will travel back to this time, to Vvardenfell and to your life as the Nerevarine." Player: "It's an honour to receive your blessing and guidance, Akatosh. What should I do next?" Akatosh : "You are going to return back to your time, and from there you are going to be able to cast the spell, using the Dragon of Time power you will gain control of past and future I hope it serves you well. Farewell dear Nerevarine, the time has come for you to receive the blessing of the people, your time here is now gone." Quest Update : " The God Akatosh saved me! He also gave me the power to travel in time. Everything starts to fade, a white light comes out of Akatosh invading your eyes... you wake up in the Dwemer ruin, that now is completely destroyed, only rubble is left in the open air." You woke up to see Atan runing towards to you: Atan Valar : "You are alive! I can't believe it, I saw the two of you talking and then R'shat died! It was too late, you had already got into the Link and the ruin started to collapse and sudenly you vanished into the Link! I'm so happy to see that you're alive! But it's strange I see something different in you, what happened!?" Player: "It will take me years to explain... let's keep it simple, I was gone and now I'm back." Atan Valar : "Years? Hum... but the collapse was very fast. I didn't even have the time to take those damn books that fool R'shat was reading. Well as long as you're uninjured!" Player: "What now?" Atan Valar : "I'm not going to stay here! I'm going back to the Arcane University... there's nothing left to do, this place is a pile of dust, I guess we'll meet back there." Then you are back to Tamriel, you can use the spell Dragon of Time if you want to go back to Vvardenfell, so you can do side quests, etc...
THE END
And they lived happily ever after...

I think...
that you should totally make it so that you play as the nerever, and the rest of those mages in the ruins will play as other important roles in the morrowind main quest for example, Atan Valar would become Caius Cosades as his role, because everyone in the ruins would have become another role, if that makes sense and your like... hey, wait... Atan?! your who im supose to report to? caius reply: what? i dont know who you think i am, but i assure you, we have never met. Now what brings you here? and its just kinda strange things like that but i think that maybe we should have a huge twist halfway through the main quest, somewhere around the time you have to gain the titles of nerever and hortator and stuff, a main quest split off, where something goes wrong with the link, and oblivion gates start opening up in morrowind, and the people are confused, and theres a big war, so you have more enemies and more things to worry about as your try to gain your titles but it also makes it seem less boring going to each and every person and gaining their favor, for you can go and do a split off quest what do you think davidwolf?

First I think that you must
First I think that you must be a pirate and I like the concept of mixing realities, we can use that in the end. I will update this tomorrow, sorry to be so brief ;P Seeya!

For what it is worth,
what if you paralleled the Morrowind main quest but never directly take part in it. Basically I envision having the "rumors" change as you play to let the player know that the main quest is taking place. This would allow for the inclusion of the main story line but allow for new quest content to flow around it. So your character comes from the mainland to Vvardenfell as part of a non-guild specific story arch and works any and all quest available. All the while hearing tell of the Blight and the efforts to end it. I do not script and have no idea what would be involved in making something like that happen but there it is. As to the OP, it sounds like a great idea but I thought I read somewhere that the Morrowind main quest had already been put back into Morroblivion? I wonder what the point would be unless you just feel you can do a better job at re-implementing it into Oblivion. Not trying to stir up anything just curious. The divergent story line idea that alec127 put forth is an interesting concept. I finally got a good conversion completed so I can enjoy Morroblivion goodness. If I can help with anything just let me know.

What about instead of any
What about instead of any rank in the mages guild you need to have completed the recomendations first. I think that makes more sense that way. But good Idea:)

concerning the dark brotherhood
Okay if the main quest was to be implamented into morroblivion, then if your character was a member of the dark brotherhood then maybe it should be a seperate group of assassins that attack. Not to screw arround with the origional story but killing another db member is against the 5 tenets. Just alittle thing to consider

SoVvM sucks, really, I mean it! :D Only 15-20% of specific atmosphere of Morrowind. Bleh!

concerning the dark brother hood
Well you kill all of your little buddies in the DB quest so I guess you could always work something like that in but it would probably be simpler to just have an an clanned assassin attack you or maybe the Morag Tong?

Personal thoughts and other idea's
I'd love to see Dagoth Ur's full budy rendered in oblivion graphics instead of just the mask as in my pic. I'd love the chance to kick his ass Oblivion style. Also maybe in morroblivion you can aid the Nerevarine in rebuilding morrowind but have him/her reluctant at first, not trusting you since your "The Champion of Cyrodil" and if you've completed the "Knights of the Nine" quest "The Devine Crusader". Being The Champion of Azura he or she might naturally distrust you, but willing to give you the benifit of the doubt since you saved all of Tamriel. When you first meet he/she might say "I've heard of you "Champion", let me tell you now, we don't need your help in Morrowind or need it" choice 1: Who are you? choice 2: Aren't you the Saivor of Morrowind? Responce 1: I am, *Insert character name of your choice*. Most people around here call me "the Nerevarine " I was the one who saved Morrowind from the wrath of Dagoth Ur. Responce 2: I see my fame extends even beyond Morrowind into Cyrodil and beyond. Yes I am, but don't try to butter me up over it. if your the devine crusader You've never had to fight a god, and Umaril dosn't count. choice 1: I only came because I hear there is alot of problems here in Morrowind choice 2: I just came here to get away because people can't solve their own problems. Responce 1: Problems, no shit there's problems. Morrowind is in ruin from the death of the Almsivi Tribunal, Dagoth Ur's minions, and the invasion of not one but TWO Daedric lords. Of course Morrowind is in turmoil. Responce 2: Well you'll find no shortage of idiots here. I've found pleanty of people who can't take care of their own problems. It seems like you and me are the only compident people in all Tambriel. The only ones who can get things done. Sounds like you could use some help. Responce:I've already told you we don't need your help, but if you insist on hanging around atleast you can do something useful.... something along those lines just an idea

cool
Nice but he's not floating like a good little poet god should. serously for some places a levitation spell should be made Anyway Idk maybe the new enemy should be one that only the combined might of the The Champion of Cyrodil and the Nerevarine can overcome

You should do that & add
You should do that & add more onto the questline after that...make it to where you are the descendant of the Nerevar and where you must clean the land of the evil that still plagues morrowind (kill bandits, kill the rest of the followers of Dagoth Ur/House Dagoth and free the slaves) just stuff like that...it wold be a good idea yo make it where its more choice oriented to where everything you do affects the outcome of the story. Also make it to where the elves and Dwemer created The Link together with the help of the Daedric Princes. Also add a new enemy such as Vivic turns evil or The King of Morrowind is planning to take over the empire and kill the Nerevar (make it a realy strong enemy that takes both yours and the Nerevar's combined power to defeat) and have the Nerevar return from Akavir (it says he left for Akavir and never returned in those books in oblivion)...that woul b a good plot twist and add alot of content. man with this and all those other provinces that are mods this game is now huge!!! probably one of the biggest games ever made...except MMORPG's please excuse any bad grammar/spelling i may have in this post.

Nice
Well, I do have to say I think that you guys have some very good opinions! I would like to toss my two septims in though... I like Davidwolf's concept of reliving the original quest. I think that the original morrowind main quest should be a prelude to a greater quest where you do have to discover and destroy a new enemy with the combined power of you and the nerevar. possibly (as stated above) you are the descendant of Nerevar, and so only you can use The Link (similar to the Animus in Assassin's Creed). Once you complete the quest, however, instead of Azura appearing to you, maybe the original Nerevar should appear. He could be the Link itself and when you return to the correct time the cavern is about to be destroyed. The Link turns into nerevar, and he accompanies you out of the caverns. This could lead to a huge quest line that ends with you and the nerevar destroying a threat. Another thing to consider, The Champion of Cyrodiil (with some help) defeated a Daedric Prince, and the Saviour of Morrowind defeated a god. Who or what could be a credible threat to either of these beings?

I donno
Maybe At the end you have Dagoth Ur brought back by a mysterious force more powerful then ever and both the Nevavarine and The Champion of Cyrodil must take him down only to find out from another devine *ex: Azura, Akatosh, Vivec, Talos aka Tiber Septem or a ghost or vision of Urial and or Martan Septem* Telling them the true source of the evil that has come to plauge both Morrowind and Cyrodil is infact a god who's heart was thought to be destroied in Morrowind, Lorkhan himself. Only together will they be able to unite Morrowind, Cyrodil and the other provences and all the guilds together under one united banner and defeat the forces of Lorkhan. BTW: is lorkhan an Aedra, Daedra or something else completely?

Good idea but...
Start of morrowind is 3E 427, 6 years before Oblivion takes place, since it was the Emperor who sent the Neraverine to Morrowind It couldn't take place unless the date was changed and your made to start in Morrowind on the boat rather than in the imperial prison. It would be cool if you could play the Morrowind, Tribunal and Bloodmoon main quests then when you complete that after you go to sleep you wake up in the Cyrodil prison, confront Urial Septem about his knowlege of the Neravarine Prophacy and your latest adventure and continue on doing the main Oblivion quest and after that being able to travel back and forth between Cyrodil and Morrowind as you like finding out you were missing for 6 years.

Sadly I suck at 3D...
Sadly I suck at 3D... because I would love to see an epic battle in Ghostgate, the Dark Elves trying to enter and super powered enemies coming out of the Ghostgate, kinda LoTR ... something worth playing, instead of the dumb Nerevar always alone killing all the monsters... since Oblivion has AI and extended scripting, we can actually create an amazing battle before the end of the main quest, I imagine dark elves riding armored guars killing ash slaves, and Vivec in a Golden throne pushing with spells hordes of enemies back to the Ghostgate... you'll get a game crash every 5 minutes sadly xD But is just an idea, maybe some CS God or Goddess like this idea... *pray* Seeya!

Awsome idea
It would kinda be like the battle for Bruma or the final asasult on Umeril's stronghold. Also with the mounted combat mod they could attack on horseback. {oh why wasn't mounted combat in Oblivion in the first place? *emo's in an extremely dark corner and eats chocolate*}

YO!
Hey guys, im new th, be the fourm, but not to morroblivion. I had an idea about the quest. Here's my 2 cents, You start the morrowind main quest just like you start out in the original game, on the ship. The main quest happens with (hopefully) the freedom to do anything else in the province of Morrowind. After you finish the quest, you are given an option to sikip ahead 6 years in time to the Oblivion Crisis, and go through the game like you did when you started oblivion. Then, you can travle to morrowind at will, and meet your previous character as a NPC, who (could) become a and help you with the Oblivion storyline. Tell me what you think! PS: I am avalilble to do voice acting if needed.

I for one would just like to
I for one would just like to play Morrowind with Oblivion graphics, I wouldn't want to see stuff that wasn't in Morrowind. I wouldn't even mind choosing between Morrowind and Oblivion right at the start, and then do the character creation, and just play the story I chose. Maybe make a way for us to import our character to the other storyline when we want to, so we can keep some of our pretty armour. I don't know, I would like to play them as stand alone games almost, but I understand that some people want to combine them in some way. Satchboogie

I've heard it too, but thats
I've heard it too, but thats just something Bethesda threw in, to let us know the Neravarine isn't to be found in Cyrodiil I guess. We shouldnt take that too seriously honestly.

Keep it simple!
Welcome to the Forums Satchboogie :) Yes indeed there's a need to merge the two games/worlds in some way, this is why I came up with this simple, but yet effective idea. I didn't want to "merge" the Worldspaces, since it's a great and tiresome work and I'm afraid that it will take months to finish such task, and it will not be perfect. Now... about Akavir, forget about it, we're not talking about Nerevarine, but about Vvardenfell, connecting both worlds someway. Concerning my mod idea, is actually very simple and it takes almost no effort to do it, you can finish it in no time and is very lore friendly, think about it Dwaven technology is complex, no one knows what they're were up to, so this is like Assassin's Creed all over again, a plug to the past. The same concept is applied here, but of course you don't have to like it, so I hope to see new mod ideas or variations of this one. Seeya ;)

Thanks! I just hope you
Thanks! I just hope you aren't creating too much work for yourself, so that it would still be like this 5 years from now! But if you say you can do it then I have faith in you, so to speak. I just wish I had the slightest experience with the construction set at all, or that I would at least have enough spare time to learn my way around it. Because right now, I barely even have time to play Oblivion, let alone mod it. I'll try to make myself as useful as I can, by testing all the releases I can find on this site, for example. Just the Opposite
I am at the opposite end of the spectrum. The two worlds are already separate in two different games. Why not just play Morrowind since it has hundreds of mods readily available and an existing community of people that still play it. What is the point of launching the game Oblivion if all you want to do is play Morrowind? I like Morroblivion because they ARE joined, and I personally want to see them melded even more. I want to be able to go back and close a few of thoes gates that have been opeining up all over the place... I like Oblivion; I played Oblivion first and will go back to it in the end. I fell in love with Morrowind despite the decrepit state of the world where half the NPC's were fighting the Other half, many of them were naked and most of them unarmed. Nothing works; there are no quests, dungeons are empty; NPC's stand there; and the only thing in the wilderness are Rats and Guar. Before we start thinking about all the nifty things that we would like to do, it is first necessary to get a workable, playable experience. How are we going to get there? The thing I am waiting to see from MOTF is a clear set of goals and objectives.

You're out of place.
Don't throw your frustration here, it has nothing to do with the Topic. It's not my fault if Galadielle didn't finish his own mod. And btw "nifty things"? Sorry, but it's called imagination and is a great part of building quests and also Games, you're doing your job and I didn't bother you au contraire, why are you complaining here? Besides, I can understand the urge for solving problems with Morroblivion, but you need to relax and enjoy a little. Not everything in life it's perfect and not everyone has everything clear in his life, but I didn't force you, so don't you try to force me. First thing is respect, because what goes around comes around.

Just wondering...
I am just wondering how you plan on getting there. I am just pointing out that there are a few obsticles to be overcome along the way. How do you plan on dealing with them? I am not trying to force you to do anything; I just want to know how you plan on implementing this idea?

No Problem.
I have no problem with your questions, I have a problem that you are asking something like this; in a Topic that is for an idea for a possible quest. And I have the right to share my quest ideas, just like you have the right to share your bugfixes and personal ambitions with Morroblivion. It's completely out of place, if you want to ask me that please do it in the right place, that's all I'm asking for, or it seems that you've nothing better to do than jump in any forum an throw complains at me. Here's the official MOTF Topic: http://morroblivion.com/forums/morroblivion/mods/285 Do as you like, but let us try to keep this in order, shall we?
