Caius won't recognize Mages Guild advancement

I did the ENTIRE mages guild questline then came back to caius cosades. Turns out he thinks I should join the FIGHTERS GUILD, and takes no notice of my being an archmage at all, so I join the fighters guild.

First mission is the original version of the first mission you get in anvil for fighters guild involving rats. I go into the house, talk to her, find I have to kill two rats. So I kill the two by her bedroom door, and the third is not even in the house. I'm trapped in a mission I might not be able to fix because this is a creature not a unique npc with set dialogue that would allow me to further a questline. All because caius cosades is being a butthole.

I can`t help with the mages guild,but about the rats.

There are more rats in her storage room above her house.you have to go outside and up the steps next to the house and open the door with the same key that you used inside the house.

I had no idea she had an upstairs. 0_0 Thanks for that, too bad I killed her and went to take the heat to find out the leader had no idea it had been me. lol.

I resolved the issue. Let me say a few statements to explain how I figured out my issue resolved. I ignored the two races inbetween vivec and the other one and chose to do a rogue khajiit. well, I thought maybe the thieves guild would be recognised by caius cosades and it wasn't so I decided to give the mages guild a spin. I found it to be a fun questline and finished it, even kill all telvanni concilors by killing the archamge, after I was made archmage because I wanted to try joining the telvanni house later on. All this time my primary skills were rogue stuff which I hadnt used much, so I never leveled up once, I was good at magic thoug so it was okay. When I got back to caius cosades I was still level one and wearing armour that was in a mod in oblivion that was hunter based that i had stopped by oblivion to pick up because it looked awesome. So to the morrowind npc's I wasn't wearing really good armour, and I was still level 1 so I hadnt made much of a name for myself in that regard so he still wanted me to do stuff until I leveled up some. After getting bored of fighters guild I went searching for the telvanni and was attcked by a dude in chitin armour because I had snagged cool looking armour from seyda neen along the way. I had ditched the armour from the mod and wanted to try out some heavy armour. I didnt like khajiit at this point because I couldnt wear a helmet because of they're noses being bigger than my head practically and it wouldnt fit, so I changed race via computer code and changed to dark elf and decided to go mage/warrior (I had taken to a sword and had used it more than spells on occasion bringing up combat skills along the way) and brought the stats back to what they were before. Naturally my primarys pretty much skyrocketed and I decided to go to caius cosades place to rest I leveled up a ton. A dark brotherhood attacked and I killed him and donned his armour, and caius cosades instantly gave me my orders when I asked for them. So yeah, I now know he goes by your level and your armour as much by what place you are in, in a guild faction or not in as it were. so this problem is solved.

Yeah you have to be level 4 before Caius will give you your orders.
