black screen when Dremora Lord spawns

Im doing the Alof and the Orcs Quest and have just killed the orcs:

At the shrine itself (http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Ashunartes) there are some gems and a cursed pearl at the base of the statue. When I pick up the pearl, a Dremora Lord spawns and the entire screen turns black. It stays black even when I reload the game. It appears that it is related to the OBGE 3.1 mod, as the problem does not appear when I disable it in de OBSE folder.

edit1: It only happens when I actually look at the Dremora Lord.

probably some bad normal maps for the dremora, they are saved without mipmaps.

resave it with photoshop + dds plugin, save it as dxt1 + mipmap,

or download convim, or some other converter and do it there,

or send a message to Hashmi1 about the problem

What image converter would you recommend as convim doesnt support mipmaps if im correct

It does not only happen with the Dremora Lord now! Im went inside Moonmoth fort and the black screen appeared again. It doesnt go away when I go outside.

maybe its the dreaded nvidia black screen bug, the fix is found at tesnexus

Ive got an ATI 6970 2gb card so that isnt problem I think..

Possibly it has to do with corrupt shaders:
