Try going to start-> my computer -> system properties.

For a more comprehensive report, go to start_> run (or just type it into the search bar) and type "dxdiag" and press enter.

Tell me your processor, how many cores you have, what your ram is, and what video card info it gives you. ;D

Thanks Iceburg, but my computer does not seem to have a system properties area. It is probably called something else but i cannot find it.

Were you able to do it by running 'dxdiag'?
What os are you using? xp, vista, or 7?

As i said in my title I am running vista. But now i realize I mis understood what you were saying and now I used "run" to find it. Sorry about that.

I have ATI Radeon HD 3400 series. Aproximately 2041 total megabytes

My processor is Intel Core 2 Duo CPU e7400 @ 2.80 GHz (2 CPUS), ~2.8GHz

No idea what that means XD

4094 MB RAM

That is more than minimum requirements, it is almost better than the reccomanded ones. You can play Skyrim vey well.

MINIMUM SPECS

•             Windows 7/Vista/XP PC (32 or 64 bit) -Check

•             Processor: Dual Core 2.0GHz or equivalent processor- you have 2.8 dual core, so Check

•             2GB System RAM - You have twice that

•             6GB free HDD Space- Probably

•             Direct X 9.0c compliant video card with 512 MB of RAM- I think you have 4x that

So As far as the minumum goes you're good to go. You don't have all the 'reccomended' stuff, but neither do I. =/

The "you have to use steam" stuff leaves me out.

I was almost positive i wouldn't be able to run Skyrim. I thought my computer was outdated to hell. Guess not. I am still going to get a better graphics card though.

Steph: Ya, that has me more bummed about this game than anything else. :( I'm REALLY sad about that. Will it be harder to mod? Is it going to do that stupid steam thing where it picks the install folder? Bah!

Ya brutal, congrats! :D I bought a $75 video card 6 months ago. It's good, but I really want a 8 core mega beat that eats games like Skyrim for breakfast, if there even is such a rig. A man can dream, I guess. ;)

brutal7, the best thing you could do for Skyrim is replace your video card.  The ATI Radeon HD 3400 is at the VERY bottom end of the Radeon 3000 series.

Pick up a used Radeon HD 3850 (top of the Radeon 3xxx series) on craigslist or ebay for $50 and you will be a LOT better off.  It is in the same card family but it is a much faster card.

Is that when you finally get one, you realize that games are not optimised... and you look your gtx 580 SLI run at 25% on each card... 45 fps... with a 120hz monitor.... you have 2 core that work... and you realize its just one with hyperthread...6\8 cores are idle... so what you do? Overclock Moar!!!!

:D

i'm pretty sure you only need to activate on steam. after that, you are not required to run steam. as far as i can tell, anyway. we won't know for sure until thursday night, i suppose...

2.1 gigahertz single processor

2GB Ram

128 or is it 256?? MB Intel video card

Lots of HDD space..

I never thought I wouldn't be able to run Skyrim........ And here I am, it works! XD ... Runs better than Skyrim actually... perhaps due to the never ending list of mods for oblivion :)
