No Wraithguard? Also, Archcanon fix.

Submitted by Parabox on

When I finally realised that I had to talk to the Urshilaku wise woman to finish the fourth and/or fifth trials to update the Archcanon's dialogue, I immediately went to Vivec to fetch Wraithguard. Even though I have gone through all dialogue with Vivec, I have not received Wraithguard, although I can steal the Unique Dwemer Artifact from him and start the back door quest for Wraithguard.

I reckon that all that's needed is a good look through Vivec's dialogue, as for now, I will have to give it to myself through the console. (Unless it's not truely necessary to have Wraithguard to wield Keening and Sunder)

It seems that Wraithguard is now light armour, while it used to be heavy, and it's worn on both hands, while it's one glove. It's worn on the right hand, so the left needs fixing.

I don't think oblivion allows for single gloves. Do you have an idea of how you could fix that/ work around it?

As I said, editing the model might be an option. The textures on the left-handed part could also be made invisible with an alpha layer. It would still be worn as two gloves, but you would only see one.

Smart! ;)

I don't know if anyone is in charge / working on that issue, if not maybe you could submit a fix. ;)

What could be done is that in blender one of the gloves could be deleted and a hand model could be skinned to replace it, this would make it appear as only one glove

Also, I'm pretty sure that adding an alpha layer to one glove would simply make it appear as if you have no hand, because it would take up the hand slot but provide no visible model.

I would honestly prefer the way it's now over having one hand bare, I walk around in armor all the time (and I doubt I'm the only one) and it'd be weirder to see a hand then what we have now.

I also suggest combining certain gloves that were pairs, and thus their effects and names. It seems weird to me to seperate the pairs and make them new pairs.

That's kind of a cool idea.... I think I like that....

You obtain Wraithguard by swearing an Oath to Vivec when you speak with him. Follow the main quest.
