Installation Help

Submitted by SD46 on

I need help with the installation; I am doing manual installation and would like to know where I should save the all the files I have downloaded thus far, do they go in the Oblivion Data Directory? Also my version of Oblivion is a hard copy while my Morrowind copy is from Steam. How exactly would I set up the Morrowind files or where do I put them for the mod to work properly. Thank you for any help.

I do not know about Steam installation's features, but in order to install Morroblivion, you have to put everything in Data folder. However the same thing I have just told is also writtenin Installation Instructions. I would strongly suggest you to read them again, as you might do something wrong or just forget...

Allow me to rephrase: if I have the Morrowind files on Steam, where should I have them located on my hard drive to properly work for Morroblivion?

The Morrowind that is installed in your SteamApps/common/ folder is just your original Morrowind install, you do not have to change anything in there.

When you install morroblivion the main install file v0.48 just asks for the location of your original Morrowind install, just browse to it`s location, then it asks for the Obilvion.exe location.

After that it just installs the main morroblivion install Morrowind_ob.esm into your Oblivion Data folder.

Then you have to read the rest of the install instructions to instal all of the other stuff needed by morroblivion.

It is not easy that is why you should read and understand the install instructions.

Thank you. I understood most of the instructions but I wanted to clarify somethings because I'm kind of a noob at mods, sorry. I just wasn't sure how you handled the steam version

I figured since I'm having what I believe to be an istallation issue as well I'd post this here. Well that and I get flagged by the spam filter for trying to post this.

I'm fairly new to modding and have never tried installing anything this extensive. I followed the installation guide for morroblivion and the ones for the guides for the compents listed in morrowoblivions intallation guide. Vvanderfall's imports is working correctly so I feel like I made it at least that far with out any issues. Basically I get the game started just fine and I dont seem to have any issues untill i try to travel to morrowind. I used the world transport mod listed in the installation instruction the one that has a dark elf on the ship in anvil, allows you to go to Ebonhart or Seyda Neen. The ship its self has a lot of purple. Which I believe are a texture issue? Similar to the exclamiation point error? Correct me if I'm wrong. The game crashes after the load screen for travel. Sorry if this post is a little vague or needs more info, I'm just trying to get an idea of what may help me fix the problem I'm having.

Thanks for any help.:D

:OI have mod down loaded and in the data folder. I tried starting a new game and I had a similar experince. It got through the text and then the game crashed? I'm unsure about load order. I have boss installed, should that have taken care of it? This is not spam i am asking for and responding to advice so I can properly enjoy morroblivion :)

You mentioned load order.

Morrowind_ob.esm must be loaded straight after oblivion.esm.

If not then lots of errors can happen.

I will go through the download list and get back to you with more info later.

:(Yeah I was unsure if load order could be the issue. I'm have BOSS installed. That takes care of load order if my understanding is correct. If not what is the best way to correct load order?:O the emoticons by the same seem to be my only way past the spam filter

So while I would love to fix the missing textires the only ones I know of are missing boat textures.  I'd love to be able to just play the game. Currently any time I go to morrowind that game crashes. both world transfer, both sedya naden and ebonhart and new game.
