Very odd ground textures even after reinstall

Submitted by gadzooki on

Hello all.  I have tried reinstalling the entire mod now twice and I am still getting this effect.  All of my ground textures are blocky, low-res looking, and I am not sure what I am doing wrong.  I have tried a manual install twice, and have also tried reinstalling just the texture packs as well to no avail.  Any ideas?  Thanks for the amazing work everyone has done![External image]

Change your settings in Oblivion.

In the game, press the Esc key on your keyboard, go to your Video settings and change the texture size to "Large"

Hey Thermador, I've heard of problems like this and it seems the fix is always to change the texture size to large. Why is this? Is this because the texture replacesers only replace large textures?

The strange thing is, this is exactly what I did after searching around on the forums before posting.  Still no luck.  I am launching Oblivion with wryebash, installed the mod manually, and my load order is correct.  I've switched to medium and back to large texture size just to see if that would clear the issue to no avail.  Any other suggestions?  Thanks again for the help!

Oh wow. That's weird.

I'm seeing purple textures in the background (like the gate). Purple means that a texture file is missing. So maybe you've got all of the texture files right, but one package is wrong/uninstalled so its messing stuff up? I don't know... Maybe Thermador will. Try checking to make sure you have EVERY texture pack installed, that you didn't miss one.

Yeah, the purple is a bit disconcerting to me as well.  Is there a preferred method of installing morroblivion?  Maybe I would have more luck with Wrye bash?

I don't know. I installed it manually, played for a couple of months, and then found out I was missing a bunch of potion textures (I thought they were purple bottles! lol). So I found the mising pack and got it installed.

I'd read over the download thread again and just make sure you did install each of the packages. =/

Then again, if you can get Wyre bash to work, that'd probably be the way to go. I never got the installer part of bash to work...

Hope you figure it out!

You are missing files:  Its likely that you installed a texture replacer without installing the complete install parts first.

If you install manually make sure that you download and install all files on the release thread and then install a texture replacer. Otherwise use Thermador's compilation ( http://morroblivion.com/forums/morroblivion/mods/2173)
