Levitation Ini

Submitted by Rippy Stien on

Hey I just need a bit of advice on how to fix this problem. Whenever I pull up the console, it shows this message;

MorroblivionLevitation.ini was not found in Data/Ini. Acceleration and damping factors were set to original values.

I'm also having a problem with traps. Every time I try to disarm a trap, no matter where it is, the game crashes immediately.

In my opinion, this seems like I didn't install it correctly, and I need to re-install, but everything else works perfectly. There are no missing meshes, no yellow triangles, dreaded pink rocks, or even missing dialouge... I hope to see that this is just something I need a bit of advice on.

Thanks for the mod you guys.

THe message about levitation.ini isn't a problem.  It's just there as part of the levitation system if you want to override the way levitation works in the game by writing you own .ini.  See this post for details: http://morroblivion.com/forums/morroblivion/mods/2237

As far as the crashing with traps, it is probably something to do with the scripts.  Are you running the most recent version of OBSE and is it installed correctly?  http://obse.silverlock.org/

I forgot to include the INI with the release. It will be bundled the next time there is an update to Additional Support Files 2.

I'm running OBSE V20, which is the most up-to-date version available according to my knowledge, and I installed it correctly. Thermador, I considered downloading the patch in the link you sent me but I wasn't sure if I needed to, because I had the sneaking suspicion it was included in V50 of Morroblivion. I couldn't find any info on what tweaks or patches V50 included, and didn't bother with it much either. Thanks anyways for you input though! Should I download the levitation patch by Eazzy?

Thanks Dave for the heads up, I'll be on the lookout for any support files.

Hi, I'd like to know if a solution has been found for crashes on disarming traps? I'm also experiencing this in Arkngthand, the only trapped door in there boots me to the desktop immediately when I try disarming, I never get to the probe interface.

Also running OBSE 0.20 and correctly installed I suppose since this is the only issue I've had so far.

Thanks,

~Gee

1) What race is your character?

2) Are you in sneak-mode when the crash happens?

2) Check your meshes\morroblivion folder. There should be a folder here with the name something like MOTraps. Make sure that this folder exists and has a skeleton.nif file as well as a .kf file inside it.

Hi Hashmi,

Your first question ended up in the topic line and was cut off =/

I'm a wood elf.

The crash occurs whether or not I'm in sneak mode. It also happens with the trapped door in the Vivec Arena (only 2 I've found so far).

As for the meshes, nope I don't have that folder or those files... I have these folders under Data\Meshes\Morroblivion: Clothes, Creatures, Furniture, Lights, Portal, weapons and that's it.

In what archive are they included?  I searched the whole 2.5gb Morroblivion v051.7z archive linked on the main page and there's nothing with any similar names in there. The closest thing I can find are the trapdoor .NIF files in Data\Meshes\morro\<letters d to x>...

Thanks for responding!

Probes are included in Additional Support Files 2 The meshes are in an obscure location; you probably wouldn't see them unless you knew Exactly where to look: \meshes\clutter\morro\m\

No, its not about probes.

A folder with a name something like MOTraps needs to exist within meshes\morroblivion\ and should contain two files: a skeleton.nif  and something like jumpstart.kf (maybe something similar).

These two are used to play the dis-arming animation and should cause a guaranteed crash if they don't exist.

I really don't have the files you are speaking of, even after adding what Dave suggests (Additional Support Files 2).

The only jumpstart.kf files I can find are in the Daedra and Vivec meshes folders.

Yes, the files don't exist in AdditionalSupport files 2 ... additional supporty files  were cleaned up some time ago, so I don't know ... maybe they got wiped out. I'll upload them to this thread tonight.

Hey guys, I been playing with Morroblivion ever since V56 came out, and I have run into an issue that I cannot for the life of me figure out how to fix, I even tried reinstalling the whole darn thing to see if my bad Mods screwed it up, but alas it didnt.

I am using Wrye Bash even to install everything properly, and I am not using ANY mods that did not come with Morroblivion 2.5G file.

The issue at hand is that I cannot Levitate at all whatsoever!

My error upon casting or using a Levitation scroll reads: JDLevitation requires OBSE V20 or later to run.  I am currently and only using V20 and the Silent script files.

Can you guys please help me out? I cannot continue my game unless this gets fixed ;p

To use OBSE, you need to run Oblivion with obse_loader.exe, not oblivion.exe.

Or you can use the shortcut in the lower left hand corner of Wrye Bash.  Make sure the green box is checked, then click on the oblivion logo to launch Oblivion with obse_loader.exe.

Also, make sure you installed OBSE properly - obse_loader.exe (and the other obse files) need to be in the \oblivion\ folder, NOT the \oblivion\data\ folder.

hmmm sounds like I made a blonde moment >< thanks!

actually, when I looked for the OBSE_Loader.exe file, there isnt one o.O just a ton of C++ files no executeable and wrye bash keeps installing it into the Oblivion/Data folder, I tried doing it the way you had said and yeah no dice cant seem to find a .exe in any of the folders from the .zip

so this is what I ended up doing, i deleted everything that had to do with OBSE. re downloaded the .zip, and extracted the contents to my oblivion folder and not the data folder. I look inside and heey theres the .exe I didnt have before! somehow when putting it inwrye bash it threw away the exe and kept the c++ files and put them into the wrong directory ^^

just thought i should tell you guys in case someone else makes this mistake like I did
