questions from a newbie to Morroblivion

Submitted by hqthief on

Greetings,
I have been playing Morrowind from the very first day it was released. I have left and picked up from time to time. I also played Oblivion and Skyrim. I find Skyrim's shouts lorebreaking and I actually think that skyrim is more of a medieval fallout 3 than a true TES game.

I have known Morroblivion for some time but it seems that I finally caught up with it.
I am now waiting for my Bloodmoon copy which should arrive by tomorrow.

I have a few questions about this I'd like to have answered.
-Are all quests completed? (Guild, imperial, side) etc?
-Are all MW creatures present in Morroblivion?
And I would appreciate to know if there are any missing parts of development that would hinder gameplay?

Thanks guys. I have searched the forum a little bit but I couldn't find clear answers to these questions. That's why I posted a new topic.

Welcome to the forums :)

AFAIK, The current version of Morroblivion is pretty complete, all the quests from the original Morrowind can be completed. Some things aren't present however such as some spells and throwable spears etc. but other things are (including Levitation). The expansion quests however are another story i think Bloodmoon is complete but hasn't been debugged properly and Tribunal isn't complete at this time. The current state is definately worth the download though, play it along with eloth's visual overhaul & other mods for a better experience:

oh, and the morrowind creatures are all present aswell i think, apart from the expansions.

thanks I have started playing and I really like it. Oh and btw, is the project alive as well as it once was? I mean do you think the expansions quests will be completed? Is there work still going on?

Progress is going slowly and i think all expansion quests will be done eventually, i know Hashmi1 is working on a converter to convert the quests from the expansions which would be a huge leap to getting it done faster. Voice acting projects are underway, but don't expect that for a while.

Hi Im new to this site, and Im not sure if Im in the right section. Ive done a bit of basic editing of Morrowind real basic stuff ne ways, Ive got some huge ideas but Im still in the learning stage. I was wondering if any one is working on a standalone version of Morrowind? Like using the TES con kit to make a completly different game? Like an ancient Ninja RPG but using the original basis from Morrowind, like Race, Skills and so on but changing them. I want to change how everything looks to have more of an oriental look like the journal is a scroll or something along those lines. And to add new character animations such as kicking, climbing walls and holding onto ledges. Please direct me to the right area or site if Im wrong.

What you are talking about is called a "Total Conversion." Total Conversions are an Insane amount of work. Like whatever you best estimate of time is, then multiply by 10, then multiply by 10 again, and maybe multiply by 10 again. I'm not kidding. But, if you are an experienced code writer, 3-D artist, texture artist, and animator, then go for it...

Hi new to forum.

I have a couple of questions before i install morrowblivion.

1: i have morrowind goty on steam and oblivion goty non steam, do i need bth on steam for this to work?

2: can i install mods for both oblivion and morrowind if morroblivion is installed.

3: if yes, can i install fcom + texture mods for oblivion. for the best morrowind and oblivion experience.

These are all kind of old topics, but to answer your questions: The installer just wants a directory with Morrowind.esm, Bloodmoon.esm and Tribunal.esm inside; nothing else matters. It is just to make sure that you have (theoretically legal) copies of them. Morroblivion IS AN OBLIVION MOD just like any other Oblivion Mod, Lost Spires, OOO, etc. Treat it as such, not as some altered entity of it's own. The game is Oblivion, not "Morroblivion." Morroblivion uses it's own Worldpace and has it's own unique ID, so conflicts are minimal, if any. However, this is a double-edged sword, as NONE of your texture replacers will have any effect whatsoever on Morroblivion (but we have our own). I personally have FCOM installed.
