Just a little curious about blight storms in and around Red Mountain

Submitted by Darkstar0167 on

Sorry if this post is a little misplaced guys; i didn't think it was appropriate posting it anywere else than the "General" section.

Anyway, so what's up with the blight storms that are on red mountain? Are they nonstop? And do they stop once Dagoth Ur is defeated? I just started the six citadels quest in the main quest and i have found the nonstop storm to be very irritating. I realize it adds to the whole effect and atmosphere of the game, but its just too darn hard to see when ur fighting the beasts around red mountain.

In the original Morrowind the storms were indeed non-stop.  Though they do clear up after you defeat Dagoth Ur, so you have something to look forward to. :)

By the way, you don't actually have to complete that quest.  You just need to aquire Sunder and Keening, and then show up at Dagoth Ur, then the main quest will proceed from there.

There is scripting in place to clear the skies when you leave Dagoth Ur after destroying the Heart. However, the blight does not stay sopped forever, and will only stop when you enter the area around Dagoth Ur.

I guess I am just remembering Morrowind too well.  I don't think I ever stuck with a Morroblivion save for very long after the main quest, so that is probably why I never noticed the blight problems.
