So, I was brain storming a bit, and thought maybe we should add a few easter eggs to give credit to our selves ingame. I've come up with a few options.
Option 1. Maybe through out Morrowind we can have a non-hostile npc named after our self, and have the npc explain to the player on how that npc helped make Skywind.
Option 2. Have a bandit in some random cave contain a npc named after our self.
Option 3. Have a quest similar to The Dark Brotherhood with a npc named B(I don't think I have to explain what the b stands for =p) and the npc will give the player quests to kill us, and B will tell why he wants us dead(tells the player how we helped and such).
In all of the options, we each make the npc our self, add armor, name him, add skills, combat behavior and such. I just thought it'd be a neat idea to give our self a little credit for making the mod =p
Murder immersion?? im lost
Murder immersion?? im lost. This is a pretty cool idea we should do something I personally think it would be cool to kill myself...I never thought i would say that
Bah, nothing.
I just hate the idea of wondering who certain NPCs are and which mod stuck them in the game.

I never played Skyrim without mods, and started the game with mods, so I dunno what's vanilla and what's not.
Also technically isn't all the npcs in Skywind from the same mod, you know... our mod? =p
Seldalore i dont really
Seldalore i dont really understand your remark man??
Ya they are!!! haha
Oh, alright. In that case...
:exmark: Oh, alright. In that case... might I recommend adding the new NPCs to the companion faction? That would be nifty. Perhaps start them out on the prison ship with Jiub? Then the players can choose which heroic modder they want to take with them on their adventure into Vvardenfell.
I just know that many who have not experienced Morrowind very much will likely be getting this & I was just fearing that they may get the wrong impression.
Umm easter eggs are supposed
Umm easter eggs are supposed to be hidden and obscure. Hence why I suggested adding npcs named after us to some random bandit cave as a bandit or to have a few of them chill out at random bars in Vvardenfell. Plus who wouldn't want their npc to just chill out in the House of Earthly Delights! =p
Maybe some dungeon, somewhere
Maybe some dungeon, somewhere where you don't really go looking for it so it doesn't really break the immersion, and in the dungeon there are NPC's with the names of all contributers and make them the 'creators' or something? You can put them in some kind of circle as if they are discussing things (a bit like the elder council room in the Imperial City) or else just make them hostile so you have to fight all of the creators. That would be fun. You can make them a faction just to make sure that they won't mess with the original factions.
Edit: I also like the idea where you can take them as a companion, if they are strong enough ofcourse. That would certainly be a possibility if you decide to put them in that council circle I proposed where they aren't hostile.
Now that I think about it
Now that I think about it anyway when I am hacking away at a bandit i don't usually look to see what his/her name is haha

Well if I had an npc, he'd be
Well if I had an npc, he'd be an orc with a strong paralyze spell and would have a cower ai. So, he'd paralyze you for a long time and run away. I think you'd look at his name if you met him. =p
I would look for something
I would look for something even more annoying, maybe powerfull paralyze + poison and then run away? That is if they really have to become bandits ofcourse.
haha, great idea! Teh drama
something CHIM related maybe :)
The would be really cool to
The would be really cool to add some eastereggs like that. Though probably not all together, that way you would have to search to find all of them. Maybe even a small quest, though that may be pushing the boundaries of an easteregg.
Miaq the liar
Populate With Easterggs
If I remember correctly, bars in Morrowind, or even places where people hang out are quite desolate. Maybe adding in NPCs to hang out would give the game more life. Or at night, on certain days, make the bars populated with them? I don't think that will break the immersion. Unless you have an Orc who thinks he's a Khajiit.
I do think that Morrowind needs more unique characters in towns and such. Each having their own unique dialog, maybe not towards the creation of the game, but with rumors and tips to being an adventurer. Maybe even storys of how they used to be [profesion]. You could even have a Khajiit or two on corners selling moon sugar at night. Or have big Dumners outside of the House's Doors talking bad about the outsiders filling up their homeland? I believe that would improve the immersion, it wouldn't kill it for me. I would think "Wow, they went the extra mile." After a while I might wonder who they are. But I don't think that would make the game seem less real to me. Unless they're a lot of out of the blue characters, then it might.
Now when Skyrim has rideable
Now when Skyrim has rideable dragons, imo each province needs to have at least one to ride as well. So maybe an easter egg gigantic cliffracer called Skywind? :) Huge non-hostile beast made from modified dragon model and circling around Red Mountain after you defeated Dagoth Ur. When riding he can tell you some easter egg things similar to M'iaq th Liar about ancient wizards who resurrected Morrowind etc. Dunno about Cyrodiil, maybe Aspect of Akatosh or something.
Btw when several provinces will be put in a single gameworld, some new questions will arise. For example will it be possible to become a member of several vampire clans in different provinces, or should there be Vampire Lords in Morrowind or just standard vampires etc. Imo different clans should wear clothes of different colors and use different Vampire Lord/Werewolf models and textures.
Also there could be some very simple (optional) connection between main storylines which will allow you to play through provinces in the right order. For instance, after you defeated Dagoth Ur an npc could appear in Seyda Neen and look for a crew for an expedition to Akavir. You'll fast travel to Imperial City where a ship to Akavir is waiting but will be arrested on arrival and put into Imperial prison, so Oblivion main quest will start (everyone in Morrowind will remember that Nerevarine left on an expedition to Akavir). Then after defeating Mehrunes Dagon Cauncellor Ocato will tell you that according to some newly aquired Elder Scroll you should immediately travel to Skyrim. You'll travel to the Pale Pass, see some small movie where Red Mountain erupts and Skyrim main storyline will begin. Morrowind of course will still be accessible, maybe just some dragonborn-like smoke over Red Mountain could be added.
Easter egg that you need to look for
How about an easter egg that you would have to be looking for to find? This shouldn't break immersion. I don't think however that we should credit ourselves in it. Why can't we just do a credits sequence after finishing the main quest? Of course Skywind will probably always be in development like Morroblivion and more devs will join so it will need to updated frequently. We could do that after a major release, but as for easter eggs. I will get to that now.
Here's a page on UESP on easter eggs http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Easter_Eggs
So if you'll notices there are places named after Pokemon in morrowind. You wouldn't of noticed on a first playthough. It would be cool to slip some newer references in there somewhere.
Also maybe we could have ashes of developers that have left?
i don't mind the idea of
A great! idea,can I be a
A great! idea, can I be a Dragon in Morrowind, would be great to just fly around and shoot flames at the player.:)
I was thinking of a way that
I was thinking of a way that would give credit to a person who has landscaped a quad that there would be a hidden note somewhere with some reference to the person who did the work.
Easter eggs are fun as long as they don't break immersion and are really obscure. I think having a unique bandit with each contributor name is pretty obscure. I don't look at random bandits names at all, unless they are a leader. However I'm not sure about my online name for a bandit; happychappy - lol. I think everybody else can work.
We could have a rock in game that has every ones name carved on it as another idea.
Sorry ironman no Dargons in 3rd era - lol. I think we want to keep it subtle.
I believe the Mother of Tears team did the NPC thing already...
And it is quite fun, I run into one of them almost every time I play. I believe they added 32 hostile NPCs with a single unique, powerful, but not overbalancing on it's own, item to each. Oh and apparently they can see invisible, or at least some can, I've only run into about 6.
You could put them all in a room together that you can only get to by a trap door in the last room in Red mountain.
Maybe make their dialogue the credits for each. Use a topic for each part each person worked on and when asked about that topic they would respond something like "Ah yes, I remember that well, many an hour I spent making it just right."
Anyone seen Interesting NPC's for Skyrim?
We should do something like that! Every modder picks a lore-friendly name and a bit of maiq-style dialogue, and a bar or cave to chill in. I really like this idea :D
I want to be a khajiit with my feet on the bar in Balmora. XD
would i be able to sacrifice
would i be able to sacrifice my spot to put gopher in because without him the recent influx of fresh meat probably would have happened :) and im god awful at adding anything using the ck
Oh!
Before I forget, I'd just like to volunteer to be the CK guy on this.
If someone decides that it shouldn't be in the main game, I'll make it a separate plugin.
If anyone wants to help or wants me to get started on theirs, PM me! :D
I don't mind the idea, but
I don't mind the idea, but I'm with seldalore that this should be a separate plug-in, and not something automatically included in the main Skywind file.
Well, I think if we are to
Well, I think if we are to make a reference to ourselves, we should create characters with our nicknames in this forum.
Yet we do not use very lore-friendly nicknames are we? If we use different names to be immersed with the game, then those NPC's would not represent us.
An alternative is to make us all Imperials, and use our real names. Which would
create two problems.
1) There are many people who works in this game. So this many Imperials would create a difference between Dark Elf/Imperial population ratio.
2) People may not like throwing their real names into the game.
So I think we should create a separate building in the wilderness and put us all in with full AI hanging out with each other. More than that we can have different roles in that building as a community. Like Eloth looking around for bad textures or meshes as the architect, or David Budreck being the King, Jarl, Count or something, me being the historian, someone being the bartender, another one cleans around, someone makes the food, someone plays the lute and so on...
We could also put a "Shrine to Morroblivion" for a reference.
Hm, maybe something like Soul
Hm, maybe something like Soul Cairn or Sovngarde filled with souls.
I found the mod I Was talking about that did something like this
It was UESP, not Mother of Tears that made one.

o.O
I imagine this idea would murder immersion quite terribly. Unless, of course, it were a separate plug-in. In which case it would only murder immersion when used by people who could care less.
