Creatures

Submitted by Hashmi1 on
I thought it might be a good idea to compile a list of creatures so we can work on them (i've covered only Morrowind Vanilla, i think we should make Vvardenfell working before we move on to Mournhold or Solstheim): By default the converter replaces the following creatures with their Oblivion versions: Flame atronach flame Frost atronach frost Storm atronach storm bonewalker skeleton mudcrab daedroth dremora ancestor_ghost clannfear scamp Bonewalker_Greater slaughterfish Rat dremora_lord skeletons (no wizard or archer?) The following creatures are remade (have meshes included in the converter package) centurion spider guar golden saint* hunger* (* note that these two can also be replaced by their Shivering Isles version) For the Following creatures, mods are available that have remade versions: -Ash Ghoul -Ash Slave -Ash Zombie -Ash Vampire ^^^ All are added by this mod: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=21821 The mod is made for Morroblivion and we have permission to do anything with it as long as it is for morroblivion. The mod by default adds them to the Red mountain leveled list and does not replace "fixed creatures" ... this might be corrected using the converter ini (needs testing). ----------------------------------------- - Dagoth Ur http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=22715 This mod has both a dagoth Ur creature (retex Xivilia?) and a Dagoth ur Mask (which can be worn by an ash vampire to make Dagoth Ur). Haven't got a response from the authour regarding permission but the mod is fairly light and we can make a 'dependent plugin' which adds the creature or the mask to an ash vampire. ------------------------------- - Vivec http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=14932 The mod adds a vivec race. We need to optimize his face, add shoulder armor and add a floating/meditation animation to him. We have permission to do anything with it as long as credit is given, though it might need a little work or even a replacement since it is dependent on a body bod which not everyone would like. I'll add that vivec should be fairly easy to remake from scratch. We just need a normal elf with the skin retexed so his one half is golden like a chimer and the other half is the colour of Dark Elf Skin. For the armor, get a human chest mesh (possibly from the ebony cuirass) and retex it to match the skin colour, then use nifscope to add pauldrons (seperate would be nice, make one side Bonemold or Indoril and the other side chitin). Save this as the armor mesh and make vivec wear it as the cuirass. Finally add a bald hairstyle and a floating idle animation and you have a vivec ready to go :p ----------------------------------------- - Kwama Forager http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=31621 ^ Silgrad Tower has made a Kwama Forager for which John117 has obtained permission for us to use. The link above has the extracted Kwama Forager. ---------------------------------- Finally, the part that needs work: No mods are available which have the following creatures as far as I know, please do tell if you find or make any. Scrib Kwama Worker Kwama Warrior Kwama Queen Shalk Alit Kagouti Bull Netch Betty Netch Cliff racer Nix Hound Water Dreugh Ogrim Winged Twilight Ascended Sleeper Corpus Stalker Lame Corpus Centurion Sphere Steam Centurion Yagrum Bagarn Bonelord Dwarven Spectre (*note: SoVvM Project has some of these creatures but they are not really that good, for example the corpus stalker is a retex argonian and ogrim is a retex ogre, however their winged twilight is good).

If you don't want to mess with the converter there might be an easier way to have the creature placed in all the cells ... Kwama Foragers have only one fixed creature instance ... all the rest are levelled lists. I *think* that the levelled lists are all copied into Morroblivion, along with the cell placement data. *If* they are. then you simply have to look up the relevent Levelled lists from Morrowind CS and add your forager to the same lists in Morroblivion.

i asked permission to use it from a member of the silgrad team and they said i could use it if i could get it to work i can use it so i fixed and tweaked the mesh and textures with nifskope

@John 117: Hmmm ... well your original statement was quite misleading: " i just uploaded my Kwam Forager i made on tesnexus! " :p ;) Alright, anyways you should make sure that you have permission from the right peole instead of just permission from a member of the Silgrad Tower Team. Either contact Razorwing, the head of Silgrad Tower Team. Or contact the actual authors: Modax Jago (the guy who made the mesh) and nick_op (the guy who animated it) and SACarrow (the guy who developed the sounds). Its just a reminder, if you have already got permission from these people then fine.

the forager has no sounds i just got permission for use of the mesh and texture

there is a mod with a female imp, that could probaly be edited a little to make a winged twilight. http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=22925 [External image]

@John 117: Its great that you got the permission to use the Kwama Forager :) And yea the female imp would do fine for the winged twilight. Just need to make the skin purple and perhaps change the face texture a bit ...

Ummm ... I just wanted to add that your nif has a problem. You have set the texture path to "c:\games\oblivion\data\textures\morro\creatures\kwamaforager\kwamaforager.dds" However not everyone has the game installed in C:\games\Oblivion You should change it to: "\textures\morro\creatures\kwamaforager\kwamaforager.dds" Oblivion automatically uses the correct path.

hmm i was thinking maybe we could use the bear animations for a nix hound...i feel they're about the same..share your thoughts :P

I dont know ... bears tend to 'stand up' on their hind legs when fighting ... that won't do for nix hounds ... infact that might even look messy on a nix hound mesh.

hmm it still looks better than the wolf one...i dunno.. maybe we could remove that animation from the skeleton?

Yea I guess you are right, if we can remove the standing part it would do fine. Though the mountain lion might also be a candidate. Anyways animations come later ... first we need a mesh :p

could the original shalk model be imported to oblivion then animated using the mudcrab animation?

The image of the spider-like warrior's legs resembles the device yagrum bagarn used to move around. Could the upperbody mesh of the ogre (excluding the head) be used to supple the body for bagarn, and a normal face model for bagarn's head, with maybe a beard? Sorry if this is a dumb idea, just brainstorming.

The spider like warrior I'm reffering to is this: [External image]

So, does this mean we'll never see oblivion versions of the morrowind Flame atronach flame Frost atronach frost Storm atronach storm bonewalker skeleton mudcrab daedroth dremora ancestor_ghost clannfear scamp Bonewalker_Greater slaughterfish Rat dremora_lord skeletons (no wizard or archer?)'s?
