Lots of Skywind Suggestions

Alright, here we go, this'll be a long post.

When you load up Skywind and start a new game, you should begin in Morrowind, (because who would download Skywind if they wanted to start in Skyrim? For one thing lol) and can go through that entire world for as long as you want and beat all the quests.

Then, after the main quest is finished you have an option to "Skip ahead six years to the Oblivion crisis?" which can be posponed indefinitely until you are ready, at which point you can return to the Heart of Lorkhan where you will then start in the Imperial dungeon and continue the story from there with the same character, and a quest objective to grab your gear from Morrowind in the confiscated items chest.

Because the Morrowind-Oblivion gap is so small, we can pretend that the Hero of Cyrodiil and the Nerevarine are the same person, though there is no lore supporting it, there's none against it either I don't think.

Aha I think you see where I'm going with this, then you do all the side quests etc, etc. defeat Mehrunes Dagon, do whatever you want, and then get another option to "Skip ahead two-hundred years to the Return of The World-Eater?" With all your gear from the previous two games that you were carrying being left to you by your ancestor, maybe brought to you by a courier early on? Something like that.

I'm not saying combine all three games into a colossal world-space, the borders should still be there because of the time differences inbetween games, even though there is only a six year gap between Morrowind and Oblivion. It wouldn't make sense.

There are a lot of mods from Oblivion and Skyrim that are filled with weapons, armour, and monsters that are from Morrowind which you could use in bringing Morrowind up-to-date graphically.

Im sure authors would give permission if you told them what you would be doing with their work.

And many basic animals like Skeevers(rats obviously), chickens, cows, goats, bears, deer, etc which can be used pretty much anywhere within the three games. and as I mentioned, a few animals from Morrowind like the Guar have already been updated and implemented in Skyrim, you would just have to private message the authors to ask if you could use them in Skywind.

Another suggestion, perhaps a completely new UI that supports the non-voice acted dialog in Morrowind? but also the voice-acted stuff in Skyrim? I don'st see why the sort of chat-box that Morrowind had couldn't be used for both, because you can hardly hire the voice actors to come back and voice all the unvoiced stuff in Morrowind lol. I'm also assuming you couldn't have one UI for the Morrowind part of the game, and then the small Skyrim dialog options menu with subtitled character dialog that Skyrim and Oblivion could use just fine. Unless you split them, which you could totally do, but I'm just making suggestions based on the idea of all three games eventually becoming one massive game, tied together.

One thing that I think will bug people is the terrain and mesh/texture comparison from Morrowind to Oblivion and Skyrim. The mountains simply look like mounds of dirt, the terrain textures look like obvious tiles, it would be odd to see the differences in Skyrim and Morrowind terrain while playing them in the same engine as one big experience. I dont see why you couldn't use assets from Skyrim and Oblivion to add more detail to the world, while keeping it in the original shape it always has been. For example Skyrim rocks could be re-textured black and used to make the Red Mountain look like a shattered and molten mass, as opposed to a hill with a hole in the top.

I mean, we all love Morrowind, but the improvements in graphics from then to now are too large to go unnoticed and unchanged. The new engine, with all the new models and tools to make new hi-res models from scratch should definitely be utilized. We want Morrowind to look as beautiful and alien as it did when we first bought the original game, things like trees, plants, etc should be retextured maybe even remade from scratch in the long run?

Something else I just thought of, what about mod support? THAT would be huge in terms of what people could do with Oblivion and Morrowind in the Skyrim engine to improve it graphically themselves. It could get better and better and better after you guys have finished and released it. Due to the community, a project this big, if given mod support will get a lot of attention. The amazing and wonderful thing about modding is, it isn't a team, its individuals who all have their own ideas for how something should look or what should be where.

There is a mod for ANYTHING you can think of in the Elder Scrolls games and more, with Skywind, one person might decide "I'm going to completely remake this house to make it look on-par with Skyrim or better" and another person might decide "Im going to completely remake these trees to make them look on-par with Skyrim or better" Eventually the entire world ends up impossibly beautiful with so many people's unique ideas and time being poured into their individual projects, all for download. One of the first things people do when re-installing Skyrim for the millionth time is re-install their essential graphical mods that they always use, one for water, one for plants, one for rocks, and literally anything that somebody else had thought of re-texture/re-modelling and uploading to the Nexus.

Interested to hear what you think, and awesome work so far :)

I wonder how Dawnguard vampires will fare up with the Vampire clans of morrowind. I doubt that the Aundae clan will wage anything short of war on vampires who claim (and are) directly created from Molag Bal.
