hi guys
to start with have to say GREAT MOD! MW is soo much better than Oblivion and it's great to see a nice team of modders working so hard to get my fav island into a new engine. which leads me to my question:
are any of you guys part of the Tamriel Rebuilt project? (http://www.tamriel-rebuilt.org/) the reason i post is not to spam adverts for TR and take modders off Morroblivion but to ask about the unification of both projects.
it seems that TR is trying to acheive exactly the same goals as MOb (AND THEN SOME) for both Morrowind and Oblivion and their system for adding new content and organising the community seems very good. because of this i would love to see the two teams come together. pool resources as it were.
don't want to push it too hard but would like some of the admins/mods here to head over to the TR site and check out what they have done so far (especially the two MW maps :-)).
Cheers For Reading Guys

Damn....
too bad they don't want to work together. their postings say they want all of Tamriel in every engine, MW and TESIV so thought they'd be interested. i'm geeky enough to do all the d/l's seperate so i don't mind really.
i have MW and TESIV and will be playing them so long as mods can keep the graphics at cpu melting levels. just would have been nice for a big project team. ah well, great work on MOb anyway and i'll be sure to keep following in the coming months/years :-)

P.S. if my lotto ticket ever comes good i'll be hiring you all for full time work on this ;)
Tamriel Rebuilt is NOT
Tamriel Rebuilt is NOT making morrowind for the oblivon engine ... they are just expanding morrowind 'within' the morrowind engine ---- and ONLY that. So we do not have the same goals at all.
I dont know why but a lot of people seem to have this misconception :S
Tamriel Rebuilt had a goal of making 'one province per TES game'.
For TES 3 they are remaking the remainder of Morrowind.
For TES 4 they 'were' going to make the whole of Hammerfell ... but it has been abandoned\seperated because of the lack of 3d modelers.
Never once have they tried to make Morrowind in the Oblivion engine nor do they have any such plans for future ____ so we can not work with them even if they wanted to. We are doing two completelydifferent things :S
misunderstood
ah makes sense now why you guys havn't teamed up.
"So, what is Tamriel Rebuilt?
In essence, Tamriel Rebuilt(TR) is a 'mod' (...) project for Morrowind and Oblivion, one that attempts, province by province, to eventually create the entire continent of Tamriel province by province as presented by Bethesda in its previous Elder Scrolls titles" - FAQ section of TR site
they should really change that it implies they will be making the whole continent for all the games (i think i'm right in thinking tamriel is the whole area in which cyrodil and morrowind are placed....if not i'm an arse and ignore this post lol). just posted it to show how i got the wrong idea. sorry if i pissed anyone off asking the same pointless questions that have been asked b4
tamriel rebuilt
to my knowledge theve only completed and finilised stirk, which to me was another anvil on an island and was not that good now silgrid tower on the other hand theve made some decent progress.
@cervantes: You sure have
Alright let me explain again:
--- Tamriel Rebuilt originally had a goal of rebuilding the entire continent for all TES games.
--- Later however they realised that it was nearly impossible to do that so they downsized their goals to making just one complete province per TES game. They planned to make the whole of Morrowind for TES 3: Morrowind, and the province of Hammerfell for TES4: Oblivion. Stirk was also added for Oblivion as a side project.
--- As of latest however, work on the Hammerfell province has also been given up. Tamriel rebuilt is not working at all on TES 4: Oblivion and is concentrating upon only Morrowind for TES 3: Morrowind.
Here are some quotes from the official announcement:
As of today, Tamriel Rebuilt is officially ending work on its Hammerfell project for TES:IV Oblivion.
We feel that it is not possible to release a province worthy of the Tamriel Rebuilt name with the current state of work.
Work on our Morrowind project for TES:III will continue as planned.
TR will not be making anything for TES4:Oblivion.

To sum up, Tamriel Rebuilt has totally given up on modding for TES4:Oblivion ... so we can't work with them ...
On the other hand, as
On the other hand, as Obsidion said, we "can" work with other projects like Silgrad Tower, SoVvM and TES4: Vvardenfell etc.
But they all generally refuse to share assets with us ... mainly due to competition reasons but also because Morroblivion is considered illegal.
Not to say, however, that
Not to say, however, that Morroblivon couldn't convert TR.
Not ture.
Tamriel Rebuilt has been around for Morrowind since before Morrowind was made Hashmi1. At first it was just the main creater who was looking up lore for Morrowind, but when Morrowind and the CS came out he immedietly began work. At first people mocked him and said it was impossible but once he released screenshots some more people joined in the TR project. There is now a new administator at TR, and he has a bigger team than the old one and is finishing landcells and quests very quickly and has already released two fifths of the mod, excluding quests. However, when they started Oblivion, I believe that the new administrator lacked the drive to continue, and stopped short because he did not believe it could be done. Oblivion's project was never as strong as Morrowinds. Also when you said the hammerfall quest was abandonded, that is not true either. Tamriel Rebuilt is no longer working on Hammerfall, but Lady Nerevar, who was one of the moderators of the site and did great work with Hammerfall, took what the project has already completed and is continuing it now. Many people prefer to mod and to play Morrowind over Oblivion causing the TR team to split up. They never truley quit, TR just got split up.
@Wolf3131: Yea, but the
@Wolf3131: Yea, but the bottom line is that TR is not doing Morrowind Province for Oblivion engine ... so we can not share any of their resources, and hence teaming up with TR is pointless.

the answer woul'd be no.
