(RELz) Harvesting sounds, Alchemy effects, Books

Submitted by Were on

So I went throught all the morrowind flora and added sounds for harvesting to all of them.

Fixed all the books.

Alchemy effects on ingredients, based on the originals but modified when necessary to fit in the new system.

I also made this plugin to test the new ingredients, it adds barrels full of ingredients and an alchemy table to Balmora Council Club, the building next to the silt strider.

Nice ! do you use the default skyrim sound or something else ?

Just default Skyrim sounds: egg pickup sound for kwama egg cluster, root pickup for trama root etc.

cool :)

great work!

small things like these should be sendt to ironman so he can add it to the master :)

It uses Morrowind master and Skyrim master. I don't think he can merge things that uses Skyrim as a master yet.

Ah good point @Mehh . We'll keep that on the list of things to merge.

hmm, someone should start importing morrowind sounds into the CS

Thanks! Were, have downloaded the file and will store it for later merging.

Yes, I agree with Eloth. It would be great to use Morrowind's sounds instead of Skyrim's (such as when you open doors, harvest plants, open chests, etc). However, this is something at least, so I'm not complaining.

Like always, just my two cents.

Shouldn't be very hard to import, the files are in Morrowind's Data/Sound folder.

EDIT: http://www.filedropper.com/morrowindsoundeffects
Here is a bsm file of all the Morrowind sound effects. Do you also need the voice overs and monster sound effects? Also I added a 0 before the names to make them easier to find/check for. Can someone try it out for me before I asked to get it merged?

Added a new plugin file

Next I think Ill try fixing some books and add effects to ingredients/potions

well done !

Regarding books, I have converted the books to scrolls (no magical effect added yet - since it requires the master) but you will see that the books-scrolls are still there. I haven't replaced the references of book-scrolls with scrolls-scrolls so far ( http://morroblivion.com/conversion-scrolls-are-book )

I have downloaded both files and will store them for later merging,am still trying to get the VC tool to use skyrim.esm based stuff, that really should not be a problem, but unfortunately it is.:(

Fixed all the books/notes, thats one CTD causer gone.

http://www.mediafire.com/?7xkwgzaac7427yp

Formatting is a little off but they are all readable.

Skyrim.esm is required, as they were missing an inventory model which was causing the instant crashes.

Nice job !

Awesome!

NICE Were! I too hope that lessens the CTD's.

Now if someone actually found out how to fix that evil rock of doom that CTDs people near Seyda Neen =p

Oh I figured that one out awhile ago, replace the model with a different one......

Though thats not very helpful in the long run.

I guess maybe we shouldn't do that now? Since you know, Beth said no to importing sound files. This might make Morrowind a bit odd with no voiced greets and Oblivirim really awkward due to no voices...

But eh, even if we don't do this, you know damn well someone is going to make a mod to add them anyway.

Hmmm I'm wondering if we'll ever be able to make Skywind legal to be honest. It might be better just to stick to our underground tactics. For instance, we would have to remodel ALL our meshes. That's quite a bit. And who's willing to do that? And technically, I don't know where Beth stands on our master file. It technically is a converted Beth asset, so is our master file illegal too? If that's the case, Skywind is flat out screwed in becoming legal.

Well I converted this to Skyrim(dunno if it was converted correctly) it should help a bit!

Yeah, sorry I haven't tested those yet.  I haven't been able to use Steam for days because I just reinstalled Windows 7, and apparently it doesn't like opening for the first time on internet from a tethered phone.  I probably won't be able to haul my computer off and find a good internet connection for at least a few more days.

But on the plus side, I finally have the time to dust off my copy of Morrowind and try out Tamriel Rebuilt.  I must say, the Sacred East is officially one of the most epic areas in all of the Elder Scrolls games I have ever played, and that is including most of Vvardenfell.  It was well worth all that downloading and installing just to see Necrom.

Edit:

Clint:  Actually his post was a little strange.  Nowhere did he say that we should not use their assets, what he said was "it's not something that could be discussed in our forums"  It wasn't a cease and desist notice or anything, so just trying to stay underground is still probably our best bet.

Of course we should try as much as we can to abide by their official policy and over time replace as much as possible, but I doubt that we will ever fully stop the use of original Morrowind assets.  That would be great, but it probably won't happen anytime within the next 5-10 years.  Besides, Morrowind would probably be released for free by then.

Plus, I have a feeling that you are right and the .esm is considered an asset.

Yuh, I like Tamriel rebuilt too, I was playing it a few days ago. I've actually been trying to convert it to Skyrim just to check out the land mass in Skyrim.

If you want some advice, here are some things I would do:

Delete all cell records from the Morrowind + expansion .esm files  (the .esp converter cannot handle that many cells)

Go into the converter.ini, and prevent it from replacing Morrowind stuff with Oblivion objects

I haven't tried my second piece of advice, but it seems like a good idea.  Also, the file will NOT open ingame (Oblivion) when Morroblivion is enabled at the same time.  I think it has to do with it having to load directly after Oblivion, at least I hope so, but I'm not sure if it it will have that problem once converted to Skyrim.

Yep, I really hope you can get that converted just so we can look around in it, and then we could work on it a few years down the line after Oblivion.  I wouldn't even care that it would be missing NPCs.

I wonder what would happen if at 75,I told Beth that I have played all of thier games right back to Arena, and said that I would love to play Morrowind in the Skyrim engine before I die.?

None of that would be lying to them as it`s true.

Yeah, the cell views kept crashing when I tried to convert it to Oblivion, I'll try it a bit later. Also, Tamriel rebuilt actually has the full world map done, it's just missing all the npcs, some people on their forums have left hints that anyone can get it.... if they knew how to.

Yeah, anyone know any TR developers by chance??  :)

What you are saying is right though.  This image was posted on our forums over a year ago:

[External image]

Just a few holes in the upper left hand corner, and possibly some at the bottom where it is cut off.  Plus they could have done a lot in a year.

Is there an easier or faster way of deleting all of these cells than deleting them one by one in the cell view? I tried to make an ahk macro script to do this for me, but for some reason, when I try to use ahk, it won't delete the cell, it'll just say it does, and it won't be deleted(weird as hell)

@Shadow

Oh yeah, if Morrowind along with Tamriel Rebuilt got brought over to the Skyrim engine, that would be the best mod EVER

Well I used cell view to delete a shit load of cells, but it just tries to save a .esp file. I apparently cannot edit the morrowind.esm.
EDIT: I found a program that allows me to delete all the cells at once, by checking them all. No more carpal tunnel! And allows me to edit master files, hopefully it deletes them.

Making that in Skyrim would be harder than Morrowind.

Nm the error from before, here is what I get from converting TR_data.esm and TR_data.bsa. and it gives me a 1kb file, lols.
Also the Bloodmoon and Tribunal translated files are also one kb.

When I try to convert the Tamiel rebuilt mainland esm I get this error
http://i.imgur.com/g5SMI.png

Don't try deleting them one by one, use this tool located here.

All of the data from Bloodmoon, Tribunal and TR will end up in the Morrowind_ob.esm, so those 1 k files are normal, and just need to be deleted.  (then we have to figure out how to move the Tamriel Rebuilt portions of the landscape into its own worldspace)

I'll think about that error.

Remember that even though it would probably take longer than base Morrowind, all we are looking for is the landscape at the moment.

I used that program to delete them all at once. God, the Morrowind CS is so primitive.

I don't know it TR is inside of the Morrowind_ob.esm, I looked up some of the TR npcs, and couldn't find them in the Morroblivon master filer. Also for some reason, I suddenly can't open the Oblivion CS anymore, just last night I could, but now it locks up and crashes.>_> Is there an Oblivion CS alternative?

On a funny note, when I tried loading up TR_data, TR_mainland, Morrowind, Bloodmoon, and Tribunal it says there are over 5000 npcs. haha

I was playing a bit more of TR, and wow, this mod is way better than the original game. The quest are a lot more fun and such.

As for the converted stuff, I have a TR folder in my mesh folder and texture folder containing a shit load of files.

If I recall they already gave us permission, but said they won't help us in any way.

Alchemy effects on ingredients, based on the originals but modified when necessary to fit in the new system. They don't work for potion use yet as the durations and magnitudes are all zeros, fixing this requires lots of balancing work.

http://www.mediafire.com/?f8gaoy3983ef55n

An example of an ingredient: Raw Glass

 - Original Morrowind:

Drain Intelligence

Drain Strenght

Drain Speed

Fire Shield

 - Skywind:

Damage Magicka

Damage Stamina Regen

Fortify Light Armour

Resist Fire

Hell yah Were, we definitely needed this! Thank you!

Oh wow, you finished the effects on all the alchemy ingredients? Wow that's great! Does this mean I won't crash when eating ingredients ingame?

Updated with complete plugin, now the ingredients work just like Skyrim ones and can be mixed into potions. Also added a plugin for quick alchemy testing.

Damn NICE Were!

Great! work Were!,I will try merging them into the new master [SkywindMain.esm] later.

Btw,the new main master is dependent on skyrim.esm and morrowind_sk.esm,so there should not be any probs.
