Morrowind Glass Armor question

Submitted by Pavijan on

Hi to everyone! First of all, big thanks to everyone involved in of this majestic project and congratulation on results of all of your hard word so far. I can't wait for this to be complete, so I can play a perfect Elder Scolls game (story- and gameplaywise).

There is just one thing that interests me in particular, but I coldn't find the anwer, sorry if it has been mentioned somewhere ...:

Are you going to recreate Glass Armor set the way it has been in Morrowind? It would make me really happy because it's one of best looking armors that I had seen in any game, an the way if has been deigned in Oblivion is ... well, far from there. I know that you have integrated "Vvardenfell imports" in Morroblivon (which is great!), but it seames to me that old Glass Armor isn't there, correct me if I'm wrong...

Also I know that has been mod in working called "Vvardenfell Glass Armour", by LHammond, but work on that started long ago (4 YEARS !!!) and is seemingly abadoned. Even if it's not, its LOOONG overdue and I seariously doubt that there is anyone sane left that thinks that it will ever be published.

Concidering this and the fact that tere were some amasing modelled armors by community, I wonder if there is anybody that is willing do try to recreate old Morrowind glass armor for Morroblivion, or if hopefully someone has already done it.

Thaks for eventual answer and support for all of your efforts! :)

Ummm, he's talking Morroblivion, not Skywind. lol

oh, well i can easily downgrade it to oblivion standards

Wow, alexanderb, those are really looking great! I have a really good feeling about this. :)

If you would have time to dowgrade it, afer you are finished with Skywind version, it definitelly must be considered for merging with Morroblivion.  Nice...

Well, Morroblivion is nearing its completition, probably not soon but certanly sooner than Skywind.

And more importatly even though Skywind will look better, I would still prefer to play Morowind again through ES4 than ES5, beacase of of game system which, even though is better in Skyrim than before, is too much different than Morrowind's (perks, no atributes...) . Oblivion's seams just right to recreate Morrowind feel - close enough, but improved where the former was most lacking  (combat and stealth for example)...

It certanly would. :)

Any update? Oblivion's Glass Armor is one of the worst asthetic problems in Morroblivion.

I apologize for ultra-necro here, but I recently got an itch to play Morrowind again, so I decided to check how is this project doing and is something been done with the glass armor since I hate Oblivion one with a burning passion.

So has something been worked on this in last 2 years...? :)

Nah, we still use the Oblivion version. You can install a retexture to make it less bad, but that's about it.

This is Morroblivion section.

Well, this is disappointing...

Is it really that hard to recreate Morrowind glass armor in Oblivion engine? After all these years there is not a single (finished) mod for that. Its very odd to me that no one wants to take up this task...

If it seems so odd to you, why don't you get the skills and do it yourself? ;)

I went with this one in Oblivion

Hey, I'm not demanding from anyone to do it . I'm asking people that ARE skilled, mostly out of of curiosity, because most of the other armor is converted (Daedric, chitin, etc.). Is the mesh too complex or something like that? If it is too hard - than it is, I'm accepting that and moving on. My question is more of an informative nature :)

I'm also using that mod from your link, at least it removes the "radioactivity" from the picture. :P

roxon_55

If you want to Play with Glass Armor you Could Start at this Link and See if you can Correct the Armor.

It' most likely because of low resolution of the video, but I'm not really seeing that much fault with the armor there, with some updated texture it seems that it wold be  really nice. :)

Could not Cause any Clipping until you try and wear pieces separate then Body Parts went Missing, But i do use a Non Standard Morroblivion Body ( BP X117 ).
