About Meshes, Textures. Again.

Submitted by Iniquity on

Hello. As I have said many times, we have a problem with unused meshes and textures in Skywind. I think I found a solution to this problem, but I need help from the programmer.

Need a program that would have opened the meshes in a particular folder, watched what textures are used in them, and bore used textures in another folder.

Is it possible?

Unused stuff is a good resource for those looking for it.
Deleting unused stuff is only when making free space.
I dont think anyone will run out of disk space these days.

I believe that 4 GB of unused textures is just too much.

Iniquity,

The problem is that we used SI`s and Oblivion textures in the install,so logically the only way to find out which textures were used would be to load SkyWind into the CK and make a list of all the textures used.

But even then,as Skyrim.esm is also loaded that might be hard.

You could try to find the actual textures used by loading only morrowind_sk.esm into the CK,then exporting a list of textures [if there is an option].

Then delete all textures in the Skyrim/Data/Textures folder that are not on that list.?

We use only a part of the SI`s and Oblivion's textures. And we use only a part of  SI`s and Oblivion's converted meshes.

You could try to find the actual textures used by loading only morrowind_sk.esm into the CK,then exporting a list of textures [if there is an option].

If possible this way, it will be useful for finding the used/unused meshes.

With regards to the textures. I think must be the method which can read textures from meshes (from Complete Installation of Skywind) and after read this programm transfer finded textures in another folder.

Sounds good Iniquity, but a long job without a program to read the texture filenames into a list,I have not heard of any program that could do that, but the CK should have an option to export textures used in the loaded plugin or master,if not it is missing a vital tool imo.?

So that's all the meshes or just all the meshes that are being used?

I recieved list of meshes that we have (Converting Oblivion nifs+Converting Morrowind nifs). We use only 3808 (in Morrowind_sk) of these files.

But only used about 3,900 files (in morrowind_sk). That is, we are missing 100 files. :)
