ok, after much frustration, i finally got morroblivion working, sort of....
i can travel to morrowind, but once i get there, no one has anything to say once i left click on them. yes, i get their attention, yes, i see the little face and the x in the lower left corner, but nobody has anything to say at all once i left click on them. no conversation whatsoever. clearly, i can't even get started if this issue is not solved.
I read the installation guides VERY carefully, and followed them to the letter. (at least i thought i did.) it was NOT easy to say the least. I am on windows 7, so i had to completely uninstall oblivion and everything with it from the default install location, to C:\games\oblivion, just as the instructions told me to.
once again, i can travel to morrowind fine, i just can't talk to the people there, at all. please, someone take pity on a fellow gamer who at least read the directions, and went through all the motions specified.

i do not have any sort of overhaul mod, and have not had one since i was force to reinstall both morrowind and oblivion, nor do i intend to install any. our dual core laptop is just comfortable without them. when i went to morrowind, i had to knock my graphics settings down a couple of notches. (we do have a fairly decent dual core windows 7 laptop, but it is nothing to write home about. It handles oblivion itself at some fairly high video settings.)
also, i was attacked in my sleep for the first time since i have been playing oblivion by a female dark brotherhood member without a name. I was inside frostcraig spire at the time. I am wondering if this is going to prevent lucien lachance from visiting me. the dark brotherhood quests are some of my favorites. i've played oblivion all the way through several times, and never ran into this before. i do understand i am still a rookie compared to most of the people in this forum.
