Crashing when Fast travelling - Any way to see log file?

Submitted by ninjaking on

So Morroblivion seems to be crashing roughly every 35-45 minutes.  85% of the time it seems to occur when ever I fast travel.  And the loading screen comes up.  It sometimes when you are just walking around.  But 35-45 minutes does seem to be the accurate timeframe when crashes are due.

I tried uninstalling all other mods except Morroblivion.  And ironically that made it crash even more frequently from anywhere from every 15-20 minutes.  I think thats because my save files make references to MODs and items in those mods that are not their anymore.  So I put back all my Mods again and strangely it bettered the interval back to 35-45 minutes.

I have a couple questions which might help me diagnose the problem

1) Are their any log files in Oblivion available?  That I can perhaps review and see if their is a pattern of what is causing the crash.  Only pattern I can see is the 35-45 approximent minute interval and fast travel.

2) Is their any way to allocate more memory resources to Oblivion / Morroblivion?  From my understanding Oblivion is a 32 bit game.  And I am running Windows 7 in 64 bit.  So I would think its not using the full capacity of my system in terms of memory.  Is there some way to allocate more resources to Oblivion or run it in 64 bit mode.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Yes, with 4Gb patch Oblivion can access up to 4 Gb of RAM (well, about 3.8Gb really). Here's a discussion on official forums.

Thanks "qwertyasdfgh" (And also roxon_55 for the tips on the log files).  I think the 4Gb patch did the trick.

Although I really have to take it for a test drive for a couple days to really see if the problem is fixed.  But on initial try I played for 1.5 hours and no crashing.  And then I tested it by fast travelling to opposite ends of the land multiple times which would usually crash it.  And overall graphics performance seems smoother and better.

In the day of age where there are too many keyboard warriors, it's really great to see such a helpful community which is positive.  Unlike the Morroblivion Review I did.  Where allot of people can post insulting comments in my Morroblivion video Review just because I have an opinion that classic Morrowind may not be perfect for everyone.  Hence the reason to play Morroblivion which has a little more modernize some aspects of the game.

Hello.

I'm experiencing crash between cell transition. So I can't continue Bloodmoon DLC, after defeating the Aspect and after the cutscene.

I did create new Oblivion.ini, execute 4GB patch, use the lowest resolutions, etc.

Any solutions?
