How do I set up a load order?

Submitted by Dozy Van on

Sorry for such a nooby question but its something that I can't find explained anywhere. I only ever played morrowind and oblivion on PC's when I was young and I never tied mods or other such things. Then moved to the nooby console area. Now i'm back with PC's but only just got into mods so this is the biggest thing I have tried to do game wise.

My issue is that when the game starts I get no meshes and after a short conversation with the guy on the boat I then start falling through nothingness. From what I have read thats a load order issue. But cant see how to configure a load order. That or I'm just being stupidly blind (also possible)

thanks for reading

You need to use a mod manager (Wrye Bash for example).

Thank you! I got it working now and loving it.

I have it set up with Oblivion.esm first, then Morrowind_ob.esm next, then the Unofficial Oblivion Patch, UOPS, Oblivion Citadel Door, Knights, ShiveringIsles, Bashed Patch, and it's not loading. I've tried different orders and these are the only mods I have active and listed. I'm not sure if I missed some sort of step in the process or something.

You will need A transport Mod to Start Morrowind

What are you Controlling your Load Order with (OBMM & Bash)

Where do you Have your Oblivion installed or (Oblivion Steam) installed

You have got goty Version installed

Edit

You can download from here

http://morroblivion.com/forums/morroblivion/mods/2173

This is Thermador Complete installation Incase you Have Problem

Chargen and Transport From link

Obmm does work

Did you Read Build your Own text Down Below

If you Have Oblivion installed Default Steam Directory you will have Problems under faq on how to Move

Try putting Bashed Patch last in the list,it sometimes works that way,but imo just setting the load order with OBMM and running with OBSE is better.

I've tried Wrye and OBMM, but neither have worked. I've also tried Bashed last on the list, the DLCs rearranged, and some other assorted load orders.

Oh, and Oblivion GOTY from Steam, and Transport mod? Where do I get that?

Do you mean that you do not have Oblivion GOTY,?, if not you will need it to install morroblivion, it does not have to be the steam version though.

The master install also asks for your morrowind install dir,so you need morrowid installed too, even though it is not needed by the mod.

The transport mod is part of thermadors complete install,if you setup morroblivion the easy way,and other transport mods are listed on the setup your own install page by DaveB.

Go to the main download page and just read the instructions, you need to follow them to the letter to get morroblivion setup correctly,it is just another mod for oblivion, just a very big one.

Would someone be able to tell me if my load order is Alright?

First Did your Game Run..

Vvardenfell_Imports.esp only Put a shop in Cyrodiil if you are going

to use Vvanderfell Imports in Oblivion,,You do not need to run it For

Morrowind,,Morrowind only Needs the Resources.

Vvardenfell_Imports_open_Cites_Patch if you Don't have Open Cities ON

The rest looks standard

- Put USIP after UOP

- UOP Vampire Aging and Face Fix.esp can be replaced by Bashed Patch tweak. Also green plugins can be merged into Bashed Patch

- like roxon_55 said you don't need Vvardenfell_Imports_Open_Cites_Patch.esp

I do have Oblivion GOTY from Steam, but no Transport mod. The only things that showed up were the ones I posted earlier. I don't know if I missed the step where I get all those other things that Dozy Van posted in his pic.

And I did download the master file. I don't think I'd be able to do the other manual install because before this I had no idea what a bash was.

Dont worry I did not know what it was before this either.

I just downloaded what is in this topic http://morroblivion.com/forums/morroblivion/mods/2173

Do the "download as one big file" option for the mods. Mine did not work until I added that.
