Imperial Legion - Advancement bug?

Hi,

When I finish doing the quest Rescuing Madura Seran, rather than getting a notification of advancement potential in the Imperial Legion, I get a message saying I can advance (to Novice) in the Temple. General Darius says I still haven't followed enough orders to advance in the Legion. Now it's possible I just need to complete more quests of course, but the Temple advancement seemed strange, it always pops up just after I've talked to Darius about Miss Seran. Is it possible someone put in a reference to the wrong faction in the quest? Can someone who knows their way around the Oblivion Construction check whether it's an easily fixable error like that, or if I've got something else messing things up? I'm playing on v056 I think. No other mods.

Actually, if it's relevant, I got a strange message that I was ready to advance to Spearman in the middle of the quest, when my best required skill hit 30, which is weird since I'm already a Trooper; Agent should be my next available advancement (which requires 30 in a skill in vanilla Morrowind). I've also tried exiting and reloading to finish the quest first and only then advance in skill, and still I get the strange Temple advancement message and Darius just sends me on another quest. Which is fine but I'd like my advancement too if it's due =)
