Hairstyles from Morrowind

Submitted by Josie on

Is anyone planning to implement the Morrowind hairstyles to Skywind? I think many of the morrowind's NPC's had a very distinct look that can't be replicated with the Skyrim hair. Obviously this isn't really a necissity but I was wondering if any work had already been done on it, or if anyone planned to do so? I'd love to help, but unfortunately I can't really find any hair making tutorials and I have no prior experience so... -___-

Or has it been decided to make due with the Skyrim hairstyles?

At least with the NPCs I've been working with most of the hairstyles are already in Skyrim (Dunmer topknot and mohawk for example), but a lot of them are set to a different race. For example I know there's a couple Altmer that use a hairstyle that Skyrim only allows on male Dunmer. While it is possible to add hair that isn't normally allowed to be on the race in question it causes a lot of graphical glitches such as parts of the head clipping through the hair, not being positioned the head correctly, etc.

Although if it is possible to fix it I'm not sure how much I (or anyone else) want to go back and change all the hairstyles that need changed.

actually I think it would be allot like creating armor for skywind. It wouldn't be that hard although I think all of us modelers are sorta busy at the moment. We will have to see.

its like a nitrihair file, u have to convert it from a mesh to a nitrihair file then use some sort of hex editor to change values so its usable in skyrim

yup that does not sound like fun. But there's probably a tutorial on it. But even if there is I think it would be the last thing we would do.

Yeah, well I'll admit that there were more hairstyles to choose from than I originally remembered. :) So it's not that big of a deal. Of course morrowind hairstyles would be awesome but there's only so much we can / have time to do... >__<

Hey if your one of the modelers go ahead. I'm sure theres some tutorials somewhere on how to do it. lol I thought you where one of those people who just comment on the forums and stuff. From what I saw everyone that's modeling is working on something. It's probably best to work on the more essential models right now anyway.
