Hm, it's a neat dlc for sure. I've already had 2 bugs so far with it.
First bug was actually get to Solstheim. I'd tell the captain to take me to Solstheim, and I'd get an never ending loading screen, but 3rd time was the charm and I finally arrived there.
Second bug was at the Telvanni tower, there is this light beam that is supposed to teleport you up the tower, but when I used it, I just get stuck there. It's like using bugged furniture in Skywind, except you have to re-load, you cannot move away. I had to use tcl to get up the tower.
just play it
got to raven rock kilt some as spawn whent into a mine to see if there was stil some ebony found a dragon priest there kilt hime read a black book was sent to oblivion kilt and read a few thing got back and got out of mine kilt some marauders ho where wearing nice armor sawe a few naked guys ho went werebear on me and i was kilt

I loved getting to see Master
I loved getting to see Master Neloth again!
Though it's making me sad to see Vvardenfell so empty in the distance. I'm also curious as to the size difference from Morrowind. Everything feels much smaller.
Is it just me, or is it never
Is it just me, or is it never night time in Solstheim? Like it's never dark out.
@ice: here is the size
@ice: here is the size difference
IThe Red line are all the same length, in game but but are geographically different.
^the smaller one is how vvadenfell is in skyrim (sorry I don't one of solstheim)
@ mehh:
It gets dark(er) in solstheim but the sky never gets that dark. it's not that much of a difference.
I've had 2 glitches thus far.
1: I got killed from being hit with an arrow to the knee( no joke, that really happened) and the game crashed.
2: I can't the float thing in the telvanni tower. I end up having to the "tcl" console command
You have to activate the
You have to activate the levitate thing. You can't just walk into it.
Dragonborn seems to scream
Dragonborn seems to scream "Mod me". Idk why but unlike dawnguard the story doesn't seem as enticing. Already near the end and only played for two and a half hours yesterday. The assets are nice but barely used. Also a bit disappointed in seeing more nordic like ruins.
Still, it was atmospheric, and most of the side quests and new areas are well worth the purchase! Loved seeing the skall and netch's!
Looking forward to seeing the assets and creatures in Skywinds lists. Any chance of seeing an updated leveled list with the new creatures anytime soon?
SPOILER
SPOILER: Apocrypha is absolutely wonderful though.
imo this is the best dlc for
imo this is the best dlc for skyrim. I really disliked dawnguard. The story made no sense at all (you stop harkon just to use serana's blood to block out the sun anyway, and she willingly does this even though the whole reason she went on this quest was not to do that, yeah...)
Dragonborn ,to me, seem like bethesda knew what they wanted to do from the beginning and they did it. Dawnguard seem ,to me, like bethesda had alot of stuff left over from the game jam and they just tossed it all together in a overpriced package.
Warning: slight dlc reviews
Really bethesda it the same price a SI and all you get is a hand full of side quest and that take you back to the same old dungeon you've been to before, and 2 major quest that are the same in every way with poor scripting and the same voice overs no matter what choses you make( on my first playthough when I went to the soul carin as a dawnguard, I became a vampire to go btw. Valerica says you became a vampire but you still a dawnguard at heart) second playthough as dawnguard I choose the weakened soul( not only did the game not give me any effect at all, Valerica still says I may have become a vampire to get to the soul carin but i'm still a dawnguard at heart) .
Then they're were snow elves they aren't even mentioned once before they became the most important part of the the dlc (right before the end) in the largest dungeon in skyrim. it seems to me like the snow elf ruin tileset was made in the game jam and they decided to toss it in because they could. imo crossbow are the only part of the dlc worth anything (not modding wise) and they are no where near enough to redeem the dlc in all it's faults.
Even vampire lordship was bad. I have to stand still for like 3 second (while getting hit) to make the change, then I come up to a door way that I cant fit through. Change back(still getting hit), walk though door then change again(most likely dead) just to fight a couple of weak enemies. I find this dlc hard to recommend even to die hard elder scrolls fans.
Dragonborn however seems alot better (sure we all expected dragons to be control and spears to be usable. but the xbox 360 can't handle fully controllable dragons and spears, well they can only do so much) the main quest felt kinda epic. ("first dagonborn vs the last", and all) Southern solsthiem has completely different feel then the rest of skyrim the dungeons , While most being nordic, are well put together and very unique. The new unique item have very good enchantments on them and add a almost new complexity to the game. Staff enchanter is pretty cool but it doesn't seem like something modders couldn't make on there own. That reikling quest really made me laugh. So many new assets too. it does have its flaws though ,glitch and crashes, and solsthiem seem a bit to small.
It really felt like I was playing the old games again (with all the reference to the morrowind). especially since I just used this mod:
http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/30968
Edit: the link seems to be bugged you'll have to just search up "athletics training"
Edit2: nvm, it fixed itself
btw we could do something like that mod above as a work around for athletics and acrobatics.
I'm gonna see if I can contact dogtown and get his help on using the reikling skeleton as a base for goblins. (so it doesn't have to be made all from scratch).
All and all, dragonborn, while needing heavy modding, has great foundations for modders to expand upon and build up. Whereas dawnguard seem like instead of building it up you build around it.
p.s. sorry for the long post btw
@shadow: when I press to float up thing I go about 3 feet in the air, hover there for a while and fall back down( I think it has to do with the animation not playing)
One thing that I noticed
One thing that I noticed about the new Dragonborn dlc is that it has some conflicting issues with the current installation process of Skywind. When I first played Dragonborn, the game would freeze on the large loading screens (with the pictures and captions). The game worked fine after deleting the Skywind Map Menu addition to the Skyrim ini file as suggested by Shadow in the Installation Instructions (which worked great!). I'm not sure if this is something that only I have encountered, but I figured that I would share this nevertheless.
Most ini additions are
Most ini additions are obsolete since Skyrim patch 1.8 where they moved those settings directly to plugin WRLD record.

Bad Alex, you don't post such
Bad Alex, you don't post such stuff on the forum, you pm people for stuff like that! =p
