Social Media/Publicity | Morroblivion

Hello all,

I didn't really know where to put this, but I was wondering if it would be beneficial at all to put together a social media team in order to attract more modders to the project. Having a presence on social media sites such as Twitter/Facebook/Reddit/Digg/etc. may be extremely beneficial in bringing some more talent along and most likely attract more general attention as well. Or this may just be my desperate plea to help with Skywind since I can't mod to save my life.

Anyways, any thoughts on the matter?

We have puplic page in

We have puplic page in vk.com. vk.com/morroblivion. But it is Russian version. I think it possible to create Eng page in it.

Yes I truly suggest that.

Yes I truly suggest that. English is a very good languege for large masses. But I do have to admit Russian is to.

originally i was the PR guy

originally i was the PR guy but if you want to set up a team that's fine with me though you need to check the Bethesda presence on some of the sites as that can be counterproductive but PR team does sound better so go for it but just check in with me once in a while please because the last thing this project needs is a bush fire of Bethesda eviction notices :P

Alrighty, I was thinking that

Alrighty, I was thinking that Twitter would be the best medium, given that people could easily share it regardless of language. A tweet every so often with a screenshot or quote could potentially do wonders for the project. VK.com could be great, but I'd imagine that most potential coders would be able to speak English- could we replicate this in a facebook page?

As I've said, social media may be fantastic for drawing attention to the project. Is anyone who's particularly good at English Language want to help out? Here are the few English-Language social media hubs at the moment:

Twitter

Tumblr

Facebook

Digg

Stumbleupon

I'm a high-school English

I'm a high-school English teacher, I lack any potential at modding, but do tend to spend hours trolling the internet. I would be more than happy to set us up on some English social media sites if there is consensus with that.

I can't mod shit, but i know

I can't mod shit, but i know how to make trailers for youtube.

so i could do update videos, developer interviews via skype or teamspeak or just simple cinematic trailers.

also i can make a facebook page and a twitter page and update it regularely if you want me to.

i can work on my own and i can also take orders and guide lines concerning publishing information etc.

i prefer facebook over twitter, though i have to admit twitter has some nice features.

this needs to be done

yes, this desperately needs to be done.

the only way i found out about this site is because i remembered the "morroblivion" project years ago

we need a facebook page, and a twitter page

skywind publicity

perhaps we could contact skyrimnexus, and possibly put together a "coming soon" media package, complete with:

a description of the project

beautiful screenshots

a professional "trailer" on youtube

i dont think nexus will alow

i dont think nexus will alow this project and latly the gotten really annoying whit kicking mods of there site

Skywind is a big no-no on

Skywind is a big no-no on Nexus (see morroblivion history with officials bethesda forums and nexus).

I'm still surprised Gopher got away with posting his video on the nexus a while ago.

I'm surprised the Skywind

I'm surprised the Skywind thread is still open on the Nexus.

Maybe, they does not care

Maybe, they does not care about Skywind anymore? :)

Perhaps we could begin with a

Perhaps we could begin with a Facebook page and a Twitter and have a few people updating it from time to time? For social media publicity it's nice to have a small group posting things consistently. Mycorn, feel free to set up some social media; I could also do so if need be. Either way, I'd love to contribute to spreading awareness. :)

EDIT: If we were to have a Twitter, would everyone prefer the username to be 'Morroblivion' or 'Skywind'? It may be beneficial to have Morroblivion as the name as people are more familiar with it, though Skywind's the current project, so it'd make sense as well. Perhaps 'Morroblivion' could be the username and 'Skywind' could be the nickname?

If you do that, call it

If you do that, call it Skywind. That is what most of the updates will be about.

Looks like Skywind's been

Looks like Skywind's been taken already. :/

Alright, made a Twitter

Alright, made a Twitter account- https://twitter.com/Morroblivion . Send me a message if you want to get in on this, and I'll give you the password. In the meantime, I'll be testing the waters with some tweets, screenshots, etc.

it's free on facebook

Cool kitties. Better give

Cool kitties. Better give that to all the leaderish people :)

Eloth, Machine, Mehh, Me, DigitalParanoid, Ironman, and I hope I'm not forgetting anyone else, but I probably am.

Sounds good Shadow, I'll send

Sounds good Shadow, I'll send some PMs.

Once we have an established social media platform I also think that it'd be a great idea to have a Reddit AMA involving all of the leaderish people on the team, though I could discuss this on the Skype chat when the time seems right. :)

What about an account on

What about an account on Facebook, Tout, Myspace, Friendster, Eharmony, Craigslist, Redtube, Classmates, Adult Friend Finder, Writeaprisoner, Google+, Geocities, and Angelfire?!

Maybe Facebook, the the rest

Maybe Facebook, the the rest are just ridiculous :)

I'm enjoying the Redtube

I'm enjoying the Redtube idea, I have to say. ;)

this may just be me but i think if todd howard and the rest of the bethesda team knew about this he would tell the zenimax legal team to lay off :P

Pete Hines actually posted

Pete Hines actually posted here several months ago to help clear up confusion. It is official Bethesda policy to not allow the porting of assets. I don't remember exactly where that post is though. You can interpret it however you want.

Is it possible to get the

Is it possible to get the Facebook and Twitter links placed on the front page of the website- something like 'follow us on twitter/like us on facebook'? While this wouldn't bring in any new traffic, it may increase our social media presence, which would in turn increase traffic to the website.

I think that's a great idea

I think that's a great idea Kitties

I suppose if you fix the op

I suppose if you fix the op up to look really nice and contain that info, I can promote it to the front page.

Aw shit, the tag 'skywind'

Aw shit, the tag 'skywind' has been hijacked by something called skywind_rp. D:

Skywind/Morroblivion instead

Skywind/Morroblivion instead Kitties?

Or SkywindMorroblivion

Oh well, we don't need no

Oh well, we don't need no social media shit anyway. We're a strong independent mod who don't need to social media!
