Dwemer Ruins Remake

Submitted by Leaf4d on

Ok I have been trying to help out with the development of skywind for a few months now and eloth suggested that I should start a forum thread that i can update weekly with my progress.

So basically i have been working on the Dwemer architecture meshes and trying to make them all pretty.

So without further ado, this is what I am currently working on. The largest change is the struts at the bottom. It is not done yet and I plan to make the whole thing look as though it has been made from stone blocks.

I plan to have some form of update to my work every week. I cant promise to always achieve this but I will endeavor to none the less.

Any suggestions or feedback you have would be great!

There is the the oblivion mod called "Sheogorad - Forsaken Isles" done by Phitt, and it has some dwemer models that he has given permission for us to convert and use.

Don't get me wrong I love your design, keep up the great work. But if you need inspiration or simple use some of the models in this pack then we might be able to save you some time.

Here is the the download for the mod and we are in the process of converting it for Skywind : http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/16976

well in that case I may as well do some other task if it is already done...

Can you pause the dwemer modelling, and move on to daedric ruins? need to get an overview over what exactly we need of dwemer models.

Sorry about that

sire, he brings goods!

a maya user!

If there was one request I would make on morrowind dwemer and thats the textures were too harsh and noisy. I much prefered skyrim's polished brass look. we could use alpha overlays for dirt/ash instead.

Righteo eloth, I'll move to the daedric. I'll finish polishing off the bridge and then move over.

Phitt has also done a complete set for the deadric stuff as well including interiors!

I'm trying to gather up all the modders resources, to get a clearer picture of stuff that we absolutely need. But if people want to take a particular set in a direction, then they are more than welcome. The Vivec and high fane stuff is a great example of this.

Its actually interiors that we need people to start working on as well. Modders have of course in the past done exteriors of some kind, and they are easier to place in the game world than interiors. Interiors because of the much more modular way they have to be designed to complete different layouts are not for the faint of heart. But this makes them no less important, its just that its easy to over look.

Leaf4d is going to look at doing the Imperial interiors :) Plenty of inspiration from Oblivion and Skyrim can be had.
