*EDIT*
THE MOST RECENT VERSION SCREENSHOT IS BELOW THESE SCREENSHOTS I WILL ADD A NEW SCREENSHOT BELOW THAT ONE WHEN I MAKE MORE PROGRESS
which, by the way, will be soon. I tend to work on these non stop for a few hours and I am constantly updating the screenshots so check back here often
The Clannfear is finished and I'm onto the Kagouti.
I think the Kagouti will be a good choice for my second project, as it's similar enough to the Clannfear that I can use all the things I learned while working on it, but different enough from the Clannfear that I might learn something new :)

*THIS IS TAKING A VERY LONG TIME.*

It's tubular!
Rig it, and put it in game like that. That'll sure scare the shit out of someone who meets that in a dark cave.
It's gonna be a mix of the ESO Kagouti and the Morrowind one, I've seen that screenshot, The head looks wrong, so I'm going to have the Morrowind head but add some of the details from the Elder Scrolls online one to make it less flat.
See compare this head to that of the ESO one, its very different. I think the ESO one looks like a very generic dragon head. The eyes are completely wrong, and the shape of the top part of the head is nothing like that in Morrowind. Also the Tusks are too far back and are too thick. However, the ESO one has a lot more detail on the tail and head frill, so those will be added onto the Morrowind body.
Now he's... MUSCULAR
AHUR-HUR-HUR
I decided to focus a lot of attention to the mouth and made it goddamn massive..
Another screenshot of my progress
Thankya Eloth :) learned a lot from something as detailed as the Clannfear, the Kagouti is so much simpler it is not taking nearly as much time.
You should defiantly make the Alit after this. It's extremely similar to the Kagouti. Only slight differences like the head ridge and the skin color. Their species are supposed to be related anyway. I found one on darkcreations actually.
Ooooh I like that design, I was planning on doing the Alit next. Because as you said, they are very similar. I will definitely take some inspiration from that design. But mine will probably be thinner and have a different nose shape, like the original's.
That one is very good but it does need some improvement. I've seen your work and I have no doubt that you can make a better one.
Once again, looks amazing. And I'm so glad you're updating your progress so frequently! It's nice to follow. :)
Speaking of Frequently (:
Added some ridges to the tusks, nostrils, and some bony protrusions in the mouth, neither of these were on the original from Morrowind, but the original is very much lacking in the detail department in my opinion. I didn't want to mess with the mouth too much and fill it with teeth, so a few bone-like bumps seemed fair, to fill that empty space.
Also, I looked everywhere for different screenshots of Kagouti and couldn't find one that showed their nostrils? Did they just forget to give them some in when Morrowind was made? O_o? I looked at the Alit and simply put the nostrils where the Alit have theirs, because they are known to be closely related.
The one in TES Online has nostrils in those spots so you're good.
looking good but maby u can shorten the lower mouth a bit so it better fits whit the upper jaw like the upper jaw falls between the 2 big tusks hey got in the lower jaw
also his legs need a bit of work but u probely stil didnt get to that
Moving onto the legs right now :)
and I fixed the jaw
I'll be making some small changes to how the way the legs look compared to the original btw, nothing major. But the original has kinda derpy legs, they look rather silly walking around.
Added scales to the tail, added more definition to the leg muscles, put some bumpy ridges on the head frill.
Do the horns(tusks?) seem a bit small?
Great work by the way.
I thought they did as well until I just looked at my reference picture, the tusks seem to go only just past the front teeth. The ones on mine go further than the original's
The problem is the thickness near the base (lol thats what she said)
I fixed it :)
the tusks are correct according to the morrowind mesh, they are wider than they are thicker
Yea thickness is what I meant, not length.
personally I never found length to be an issue; its a matter of "girth"
Length has its advantages however...what wait...what are we talking about here?
Saw this coming.....^
LOOK NEW SCREENSHOT.
Looks really good, love how close it looks to Morrowind's. Great job :)
sort of looks like he has knee pads.
Leave all the detailing to the end, i know you cant help yourself!
He does kinda have knee pads though if you look at them. They smooth out into scales lower down so I'll try and make it more like that. Also Happy suggested I make the legs a little more like the ESO Kagouti's legs, they look more useful and less derpy that way.
Made the legs more like the ESO Kagouti to make him look more like a predator, also moved the eyes down a bit and made them squintier, both per Happy's request.
you should make the claws more raptor/trex in appearance like the TESO one.
I feel that that would be too much ESO Kagouti DNA so-to-speak though :/ the original Morrowind leg shape looked silly so I took the ESO legs and put them on him, but I feel like the original claws could work quite well with these legs. I'll try out both and see which one I like better.
Went onto detailing the legs, not started on the feet yet though, I also moved the eyes and made them look more aggressive.
Awesome! That's what I was talking about when I said make them more "trex like"
You know what, it looks kind of like a half T-rex, half Triceratops..... Very cool. :)
Damn, that's actually starting to look scary instead of cute! I love it! :)
I like it!!!
Sorry for double post .
But i think this monster stay little fat no?
Do you mean he should be fatter or slimmer?
If you mean he should be fatter then I agree, which I have fixed already and made his legs more bulky (:
I meant that he is not much more fat, anyway I think he should be higher for a monster this size. :)Realistically yes, but the original from Morrowind is in a crouched position, we already took into account how he looks like he wouldn't actually work as a real animal, and I made his legs longer, but positioned so that he is always crouching. Its a mix of the Elder Scrolls Online legs, and the Morrowind legs.
So I feel like changing his legs any more than I already have would make it differ too much from the original.
Great work SDW. Curious; were you planning to add a tongue? Bit hard to tell from the MW screen, but it looks like it's actually part of the mesh and not just a texture. Could probably get away with simply making a long bump on top of the lower jaw, though judging by your work so far you might not be satisfied with "good enough," eh?
I have to ask though, do you draw? I know you said you learned zBrush in about a day, but I'm wondering if I would be any good at it having little talent/experience with any type of drawing whatsoever.
Just so I can get an idea already has a release date set for more complete? Like for example the monsters and some important things like NPC's with clothes lines and everything or not? And speaking, is very good work! you are beast!I learned how to draw when I was 3-4 years old, I got really good for my age but then my skill level just sort of peaked and I honestly don't think I've improved in YEARS. I'm only 15 though so plenty of time to learn something new. Also I am saving the tongue for last, its going to be a separate mesh so that I can get the shape how I want it, and then it will be combined with the rest of the body into one mesh.
Also Destroyal, no release date on anything as far as I know, everything will be done when its done (: aha besides, I'm new to this, I may have had an account on the forums for a while but I literally only JUST learned how to model a few days ago, and the Clannfear topic is the first post on the forums I've ever made. You should ask one of the guys who has been here for longer about stuff like that.
I seriously know as much about Skywind as you do.
Creatures may have to wait until May sadly, because we need the new version of 3ds max.

It has something to do with rigging, animations, and Beth not being very supportive with custom animations and creatures. I forgot most of the details, but yeah, gotta wait until April or May.
Not a problem imo, I mean its not like Skywind would be finished by then anyway. I've only just learned to model so its likely that I'll learn so much in the next few months I might even want to go back and redo all my models from scratch aha :P
Only half done texturing
