Basically I installed everything as on the thread but aside from grass and NPCs (who have no clothes) the floor is all white and grey and there are no buildings or trees etc. I do lack the dragonborn dlc but would that have this great an effect on skywind as there is almost nothing in the world at all. Thanks for any help you can offer and the mod looks amazing so far

The new complete download has
The new complete download has everything in the correct folders already.
And this is for everyone, if you aren't familiar with mods, please for your sanity and ours, do a little research or something first!!!
This is why I don't like Steam
Nobody seems to know how to manually install anymore because of mod managers.
Ah, the days of Morrowind, no
Ah, the days of Morrowind, no mod managers, and no steam workshop. :) I remember spending a VERY long time trying to figure out how to fix those dirty GMSTs created when switching up the mods in your load order. Turned out it wasn't really that hard. Anyway, fun stuff.
Modding Oblivion without mod
Modding Oblivion without mod managers and as a beginner was a freaking nightmare. I swear I reinstalled Oblivion so many times a few years ago, that I lost count. That god damn deadly reflex mod messed up my Oblivion install so many times. Why release a version of deadly reflexes, if it isn't stable?!

I love manual installation
I love manual installation because I get to know where everything is. I've been doing it since Morrowind so I never mess anything up. But the benefit of knowing where everything is makes it so i can edit any textures/meshes I don't like in a mod
Well, instead of the "meshes"
Well, instead of the "meshes" folder, i'm missing the "Morrowind" folder. The only data which were copied into my /skyrim folder were 2 CK set files and 1 .bsa. So, i'm not that skilled in modding skyrim, but it seems like these 3 files can't be the whole mod(!?).
The mod didn't create any folder structures; the 3 files are placed in "Skyrim\Data\". In "...\Data\meshes (scripts, textures, etc) it seems like there wasn't changed anything during the installation of the mod.
btw, i got the same problem the thread autor discribed.
hope, some of you know how to solve this, thx
General mod installation instructions.
General Mod Installation Instructions
When extracting a mod archive, you should see Data as its top folder. Extract this data folder into the Skyrim folder, and say yes to a prompt asking for a merge.
This folder merge will put everything in the mod's data folder into the Skyrim data folder, including subfolders. If it asks to overwrite anything, you'll need to think about things a bit more. It should display when the files were last changed.
Generally, replace if the file you're replacing with was changed more recently. However, sometimes the file you're replacing with is older (maybe due to installing an update before the main archive or because Skyrim itself had an update and the mod you're installing needs to overwrite.). Overwriting newer files with older ones is usually a bad idea, but you should always check if it is needed when the mod files are older.
If the files are the same date and the same size, it won't matter whether you skip or replace.
Note: Usually, if one file needs to be replaced, MANY will. I would recommend checking the box to apply to all for whatever action you're doing.
In the event there is no data folder in the mod archive, you should read the instructions that come with it. Usually, the mod archive just has the folders and files that need to go in the data folder (in that case, extract into the Data folder). A select few mods just give you some files and tell you the directory they need to go in, but I've only seen this with OBGE and Ely's Silent Voice for Oblivion so far. Also some few large mods include a complete installer that you just can extract anywhere before running.
In your specific case Shaggy, it sounds like you went straight to using the Skywind installer without first installing . The Skywind installer is only there to install the core files needed to make Skywind run and to only give you the Skywind.esm if you have Morrowind and Skyrim (as far as I know, this is the only mod that does this. I do hope to see the Skywind installer just take care of everything, even some optional mods, in the future).
You'll need to download and install the Complete Skywind Installation Pack, linked in the first post of this: http://morroblivion.com/forums/skyrim/skywind-mod-releases/3323

No, Dragonborn won't actually
No, Dragonborn won't actually affect anything until v0.6. To answer your question, either you are missing the meshes, or you installed them to the wrong directory. They should all be in Data/Meshes/Morrowind
