Wyre Bash doesn't install using Wine on Macintosh

Submitted by Sundews on

Hi,

I was attempting to install Wyre Bash on my Mac using Wine, and it installed the standalone version OK.  Except when I tried to run it, then it set it couldn't find python.dll.  When I attempted to install the Python version, it aborted about 3 times with critical errors.  Any one do this successfuly?

I've installed Wyre Bash with PlayOnLinux. I don't think Wineskin does as much, unfortunately.

Looking at WineHQ, I see Python versions 2.5.2 and 2.6.5 work fine (gold rating, meaning virtually everything works), but anything higher is so bad they rate it as "garbage". Try installing Python 2.6.5.

Ok, I installed Python 2.5.2, and this installed cleanly.  However, when I run Wyre Bash, I still get ths same error: "Procedure not found. Could not load python.dll".  Any other suggestions?  I'm running version 303 of Wyre Bash.

According to a comment on WineHQ, this command may is needed to run version 303 (assuming the directory names are the same): wine "$WINEPREFIX/drive_c/Python27/pythonw.exe" "Wrye Bash Launcher.pyw"

Here's the WineHQ page for Wrye Bash: http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=15543&iTestingId=53612 It looks like an older version below 300 worked without anything extra, but try 303 with that command first.

I'm having no success with getting Wyre Bash installed under Wine in MacOS.  I've tried versions 303, 300 and 299, and the same errors. I think I'm just going to with my original idea of having all this installed under Parallels.
