In the FAQ, Bootcamp was mentioned to run Morroblivion on a Mac. Has anyone got it working on a Mac via Parallels?
OK, I finally got Wine Skin
OK, I finally got Wine Skin installed. They could do with better instructions, I had to refer to a Youtube video to get it properly installed. I installed Oblivion in a Wine Skin wrapper. It seems to run fine. However, after I removed the CDROM, and then attempted to run Oblivion from the Wine Skin wrapper, i'm being prompted to put the CDROM back in. Is there some trip to have it not do this?
There are multiple ways to do
There are multiple ways to do this (the simplest is to keep the CDROM in), but the one I recommend is to put the CDROM in, then copy all the files on it into a folder, then map a drive label (such as Z:\) to that folder.
Winecfg is used to map drive labels to locations. Unfortunately I'm not really that familiar with Wineskin's setup, since I use WINE on Linux via PlayOnLinux. This shows where to find Wineskin's winecfg button. http://wineskin.urgesoftware.com/tiki-index.php?page=Manual+4.5+Advanced+-+Tools
Also, there's a bit of a problem with the Imperial Guard cuirass in WINE. I'm not sure if Wineskin will handle it, so here's the post that links the fix: http://morroblivion.com/forums/morroblivion/general/1799#comment-8301
wincfg works!
I don't think keeping the CDROM in is a good option, particularly when I get Morrowind installed as well.
Anyway, I used wincfg to map the Z: drive (CDROM drive) to the directory where the Oblivion files resided, and now it's working without having to have the Oblivion disk in. Thanks for the help on that.
Morroblivion does run under Parallels
I couldn't get Wrye Bash installed under Wine, so abandoned that effort and proceeded with Parallels. I was able to successfully get Morroblivion installed under Parallels today.
If you can manage to wineskin
If you can manage to wineskin OBSE, then yes
Parellels doesn't need
Parellels doesn't need Wineskin. It's a virtual machine.
ah ok, I've been running
ah ok, I've been running Elder Scrolls games on my mac without parallels since Morrowind lol
if your using a retail cd
if your using a retail cd find a no cd crack, there are heaps of them.
Wine
I was able to run Morrowind and Oblivion under Wine as individual games with no problems. Since I couldn't get Wrye Bash installed under Wine, that hampered my efforts to get Morroblivion running under Wine. I did give it a good attempt. But i then moved on to Parallels.

Parallels is overkill, WINE
Parallels is overkill, WINE will work just fine (minus OBSE in Oblivion's Steam version).
