Throwing stars and Darts.

Now I think I remember a bita go hearing that they were replaced because there was no way to make them work. Now I feel they need to be back. They could be like a bow and arrow, but with a custom animation. So are there any plans for renewing throwing stars and darts.

Restoring spears, crossbows

Restoring spears, crossbows and throwing stars and darts would make Morroblivion really close to the original Morrowind. I was thinking more of porting over the original animations using the way that Hashmi used for porting over the creatures. How hard is it to convert .kf files?

There are also several mods on nexus that add crossbows, spears, halberds and thrown weapons etc to oblivion. Perhaps one or more of these could be adapted/merged/used for ideas?

I use an oblivion crossbow mod called crossbows of cyrodil. I believe there are some throwing star and dart mods but they are used oddly. The throwing stars in them are not held on by a hand. They just float in the middle of the screen.

There is Xena Warrior Princess mod on Tesnexus with working chakram and the author wrote that he used the throwing system from Guidobot's throwing stars mod.

Do we really need a custom holdtype for spears? Couldnt we just give them sword animations?

I was playing morrowind the other day and the spear alternated between the long blade animation and the spear animation. Anyway, there is a spear mod compilation which brings back the original spear animation. There's even a YouTube video showing it.

the staffs in vanilla oblivion have a spear like animations could you use that animation for spears?

but instead of KSTN Spear Stance 1H how about skycaptins spears of cyrodiil allowing you to use spears and and swords and the only requirement is obse v 11 or greater
