So far:

KAGOUTI, Almost done, but want to learn some more before I deem it "finished"

CLANNFEAR, redone, the previous version was the first Zbrush project I ever did, and it is rather unprofessional, and sloppily done. The only reason it came out so well was because of all the tips and suggestions from you guys. I think this one looks MUCH more like the original.. It is still only 25% complete I would say though.

DREUGH, recently completely redone from scratch. The first was good, but again, a lot of things that could have been done quicker, and better. None of the tentacles were symmetrical and the shape of the arms was totally wrong.

Here is the new version. Also unfinished like everything in this thread xD

OGRIM

YAGRUM BAGARN

ALIT

SLAUGHTERFISH

Guar will be started soon.

no, we are not getting that dreugh from andoran, we have to wait for their project to be finished and released, and that can take between 6 months and a year

So just continue

Hmm, okay I didn't know that.  Don't you think we might still be working on creatures in a year when Andoran is released though?  We have an awful lot of them.

Hmmm and their Dreugh doesn't look like the Morrowind one, it looks like the one from Daggerfall. I would do it rather differently, besides, I've already ton a lot of work on it so might as well finish xD

If you're going to hook the

If you're going to hook the Clannfear to the Werewolf skeleton, make sure to delete the werewolf transformation animations from him. The SkyrimMonsterMod Guar uses that skeleton too and whenever you enter a new cell, the Guar goes through the transformation animation and howls. It would defiantly weird people out if the Clannfear made a wolf howl lol.

I really like that kagouti

I really like that kagouti but i can't help but feel it just doesn't look QUITE right without those black markings it had in morrowind. This is just personal preference though, and you should go with what you think is best. Just thought I'de put in my thoughts.

Its not done yet, I know the markings you mean and they will be added (:

But realistically, I don't really expect these versions of these creatures to be anywhere near what I want to put in Skywind. I only started learning Zbrush a week or so ago, and I recently signed up for online lessons. I'll be learning a lot in the next few weeks/months, and I fully expect that I will want to come back and probably completely redo everything from scratch.

These screenshots are really just showing off my progress. The final versions will obviously look a lot LIKE the screenshots you see right now, but they will be much more sophisticated and professional looking hopefully :P

SheepDogWoof I really like

SheepDogWoof

I really like your works, especially Clannfear. I can see that you are trying to stick to the morrowind lore as much as possible while making creatures and this is good. I don't demand or impose you anything but in original Morrowind face of Dreugh looked more human-fish like. I've tried to mix morrowind Dreugh with TES Online Dreugh and Abe Sapien from Hellboy and here what I've got. I understand that you won't remake hole creature but maybe face. Please don't be offended.

Don't use the TES online

Don't use the TES online dreugh, it's supposed to be a later form in the dreugh's evolution. It's not actually supposed to exist in the second era. Bethesda did not make TES online

Really, don't feel like you're offending me. I always take criticism well and try to listen to suggestions.

But unfortunately this time I'm gonna have to disagree with both, the head was originally much more human or elven looking, but it really didn't fit well and I felt that if a creature were evolving in the water, it would evolve a more fish-like body and face to match the habitat.

As you can see with the Land Dreugh from Oblivion, they evolved to be more bug-like as they moved out of the water.

And I definitely have to agree with Gendun. We should take MINIMAL input from ESO, they kinda screwed with a lot of things in ways that I am not happy :P. And I don't mean just becuase it is an MMO. But they seem to change things around just to make it more familiar to players of the singeplayer games, to suit their needs. As Gendun said, the Land Dreugh shouldn't even exist in ESO, they are an Evolution of the Dreugh which happened 800 or so years after ESO.

Yeah, as we see in

Yeah, as we see in Daggerfall, the Dreugh started out as a race of fleshy octopus men, then started to develop crab like features in Morrowind like claws and an exoskeleton. And in Oblivion, the Dreugh's tentacles became legs and they moved to land.

Is there any lore to justify

Is there any lore to justify that there was some evolution from sea to land, or should we assume there was more of a common ancestor.  I mean, aquatic to land evolution could not have occurred in the 6 years between Morrowind and Oblivion.

I'm pretty sure on the UESP

I'm pretty sure on the UESP or Imperial Library it said it's an evolution. I remember reading it on one of the canon websites. Even ESO says it's an evolution, they just have the timeline way off.

Also, don't take things in TES so literally. Evolution may take thousands of years in our world, but our world is very different from Tamriel/Nirn anyway. Never seen magic or vampires on Earth before.

If you claim something, why don't you check it first? It is not evolution. People, please be accurate in your statements, we do not want any lore mistakes in the finished project.

Also.. I haven't died btw

I've just been practicing, practicing, practicing :P

and not uploading screenshots or updates or anything because all of the stuff I've done in the past few weeks hasn't been related to Skywind, I'm just making basic clothes, pieces of armour, creatures from my own imagination, etc.

I'll get back to Skywind soon, and with more experience (:

Hey sheepdog you think you could make a model for each stage, it doesn't make sense that all the dreugh In morrowind would just happen to be all in the same year of their life span, we should have all the stages no? Edit: plus they are my favorite creature and I just want to see more of them!

O: I hadn't thought of that

O: I hadn't thought of that but I could do it, talking of creature variation, we should think about using the Automatic variants mod to have several different texture variations of every creature.

You can clearly see that the smaller limbs evolved into the praying mantis-like limbs coming off the back of the land dreugh. And the horns seem to become webbed into a head frill.

I'll see what I can do Stij, got some interesting ideas :p

Muahahaha awesome!, as for all the texture variations that means we have to make a bunch of different textures for each creature, sounds like a lot of work, it's a good idea though, maybe once we actually have all the creatures and some one wants to take the time to do it we can implement something like that, but probably not a priority :(

We don't actually need Automatic Variants, because we control the game, so we can have as many variants as we want. AV is for diversifying the vanilla game of Skyrim.

Is it possible to make

Is it possible to make creatures randomly choose their texture within the spawn point data itself? As far as I know, you'd need scripts that affect creature spawning to accomplish this.

My gut feel is that you

My gut feel is that you probably can't assign dynamically at actual run time the texture variant, but of course we can just have a number of different creatures instead, same stats, same creature, just different skins.

That is how I assumed it would work^

Makes sense to me. Just need to copy the creature, replace the texture, repeat until all textures are used.

It's even simpler than that. Skyrim lets you create NPCs and creatures that use other NPCs and creatures. For instance, we could create a base Kagouti creature, then have Kagouti variants that inherit everything from the original Kagouti except for their skin.

This way, if we need to make some balance changes, we only need to edit the base creature and our changes will be propagated through all other Kagouti.

By suggestions I meant ones from Morrowind :p this is a Morrowind remake.

We're not putting anything in that breaks the lore.

I definitely would love to be the one to make something as Iconic as Dagoth Ur, I have a ton of ideas, I'll see what I can do. Though I have a feeling I may ask Ravanna to do it.

It is after all such an iconic character, and Ravanna is a much better modeler than I am.

But I'll try for now.
