Malipu-Ataman's Belt

After completing Sul-Matuul's test, he is supposed to give you Malipu-Ataman's Belt, a Token of the Urshilaku Tribe. This item is used as a criteria for whether or not the Ashlanders will tell you the parts they know of the riddle. Belts don't work in Oblivion. I have seen Belts simulated by using the Tail Slot, which would suffice for this item, but I need a good belt to use... that we have permission to include. For now, unless anybody has any better ideas, I am just making a Miscellaneous Item with an Ash Statue Icon. If anybody has any other ideas I am all ears, otherwise this will be a pretty poor substitute...

Why don't you change the item type and name. Make it Malipu-Ataman Ring ... or amulet ... or pants ... or whatever.

Not Lore

I thought briefly about making it something else, but that woud not be lore and some people get mad when things are not true to lore. No matter what I do with this item it won't be right. I think a misc. item is the least wrong because it can still bear it's original name without being totally inappropriate. The real point to this item is it being a Token of the Urshilaku Tribe, so that is preserved. What I would REALLY like is if somebody could point me to a better icon than an Ash Statue :)

Thank You. Yes, I know the Wiki, and went there to look at it, but I would need an Icon. If you can make an Icon out of the picture that would be great.

Icons are DDS Files

Icons are DDS Files. I know that you need a pulgin for most graphics programs to view/save DDS files. I don't know their resolution, but once you have the DDS Plugin you shoud be able to open any other Icon to check it out. While you're at it, I will also need the Embroidered belt for the same quest I am working on, and the Belt of the Hortator for the Hlaalu Horator Quest. It would be a long while before I would need the Belt of the Armor of God and Stendarran Belt, but if you could do thoes as well that would be much appreciated.

Hard to Describe

I'm going to do my best to describe this. It is a little wierd. The CS gives an error that the texture contains 6 Mini Maps but should not contain any. These errors are not critical; the icon shows up in-game but just doesn't show in the CS. The icon itself takes up the whole square as a solid white, then the belt part is kind of jammed into about 1/8th of the upper left corner. I believe there should not be any background to the icon. It would look best if pulled off the white rather than taking up the entire square of the icon.

Sorry about that.

I went through a few tutorials im pretty sure i have these right. I used the magic wand to get rid of the white background and saved as dxt3 in the dds program. I removed the mip maps so any cs errors should be fixed. Let me know how they look. http://www.mediafire.com/?y39082iyiaouvbd

Getting There

You are definitely getting somewhere, thank you. The icon is no longer jammed up into the corner, and it no longer generates an error in the CS. There is still a white background, however. The icon looks good in the CS, but not in-game. It is like one of the layers is missing or something in-game. It just looks like a solid tan belt in-game, with no other coloration at all, like the coloration layers are missing, but I see them when it is previewing in the CS.
