Hi guys, I'm new to Morroblivion, and I'm sure you've answered these questions before, but I figured I'd ask anyway.
1) It's my understanding that the converter takes the Morrowind file and converts it to an Oblivion-compatible mod, and on top of that, various modders are working to recreate Morrowind's features. Is that correct?
2) I understand that Bethesda is against the project on legal grounds, but since (as it is my understanding) no Morrowind files have to be shared online for this to work, wouldn't the only one breaking the law be the end user (i.e. the guy who owns Oblivion and Morrowind and uses the converter to put them together)?
3) How do various non-mesh/texture things work right now? Can you pick up items? Do NPCs follow scripts, and can you interact with them?
What about items? Do they
What about items? Do they work? I'm having a hard time picturing any items working without significant modding work.
Most Items Work
At this point most of the items "work."
The game is Oblivion, not Morrowind, so there are some things that are just impossible. Some of these have been given the best equivalent we could come up with. A few still have not. We are working on it.
Some items have been rebuilt.
Some items have been replaced outright with Oblivion equivalents.
Some still do not work, but most do.
Yeah, that makes sense. I
Yeah, that makes sense. I can see why, for example, pauldrons would no longer work.
Still, looks great so far. I look forward to the day when I can finally play Morrowind again (I could play it normally, but I just can't bring myself to use Morrowind's UI; it's genuinely painful sometimes).
You Can Start Today!
I would like to invite you to start today!
We are working hard to get this going, but we need players and playtesters to help flesh things out and point out things we should be addressing.
There is no time like the present!
Play through as much of the Main Quest as I have finished, which will take a while anyway, and let me know how it works for you...
I might give it a stab, I'd
I might give it a stab, I'd have to start a new save game first. Once I've finished a few things in Oblivion I'll give it a go, shouldn't take too long.
Does it have any crippling incompatibilities with Oblivion mods? I use BtMod and the Unofficial patches.
No Known Incompatibilities
I personally have FCOM, Unique Landscapes, Lost Spires, etc... Over 200 active mods.
Morrowind is in it's own Worldspace and mostly does it's own thing. At one point it trompled over Oblivion Dialog, but that has been addressed.
Cool, I'll give it a try
Cool, I'll give it a try then.
Testing, modding
I'd Love to be a tester for you when I upgrade my computer.
I am also wanting to improve my modding skills and such, So if you or a team member could help me with learning to mod (meshes textures, scripts) Maybe I could help you with creating things for morroblivion aswell.
Ty :)
I Have a Whole List...
Sure, just let us know when you are ready!
