Too many chiefs, not enough indians...

Submitted by Khar'lor on

I aim to at least round up a few more indians for the tribe... I have been spending some time out and about beating the drum and will continue to do so if you think its a good idea. As far as priority issues are concerened (quest implementation, scripting, armor/clothes/weapons ect) what are some skills I should target when recruiting prospective new members. Also when recruiting said new members it may be handy to have a particular head/lead in that area I can point them to, or should I simply point them to the forums (thats what I do currently). I'm not out looking for people just into playing Skywind or BSing allday, I aim to add quality helpful people who can contribute in a meaningful way.

For questing and general NPC related things DigitalParanoid is best. For anything graphical related, like 3d modelling or landscaping Eloth or happychappy.

Pretty much if they sign up on this website, and PM or leave a post somewhere, well get them into our developer chat and talk them through any possible tasks they can do.

Thanks for the heads up :)

Ok cool, thanks for the info. I will point the prospective people to the corresponding areas/people/forums. For the time being I will work more at digging up some assistance with possible quest implementation as well as my more broader range of recruitment. I'll get back at it. Id say a good 80-90% of the people contacted have expressed a willingness to contribute, so we will see if any of them show up.

Here are some mods I found while out beating the Morroblivion.com drum... So I bring back some spoils for the tribe! These mods can be used for the project and ONLY the project... and ALL credit goes to the respective authors.

Better Bows by Howiego08
http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/13317/?
These are some awesome bows! He said we can use his models and textures as we see fit for the project.

Crossbows Basic Collection by DJjojo
http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/23876/?
Here are some really cool cross bow meshes. DJjojo has given permission to use his crossbows anyway we see fit.

Expanded Skyrim Weaponry by Lrsamways
http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/19611/?
This is a large pack of various weapons. He said that they can be used as we see fit for the project.

Warrior Within Swords by BloodFree
http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/35577/?
Some great stuff here! BloodFree gave permission to use as we see fit. I am checking to see if we could use the rest of his mods as well but the swords are a go.

Flying Mod Beta by PorroOne
http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/15775/?
Talked with author of this cool flying mod. Said we can use it as we see fit.

Alternate Blade of Woe by ktacreations

Bonemold Retexture by hellstorm102
http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/31084/?
Spoke to hellstorm102 about using this texture, he gave the green light as well as joining up so where ever you are thanks! Hope to see some more cool textures.

Contacted Painkiller97, he said we can use any present or future mods, for any of the Elder Scrolls games he has posted. Not sure if anything can be used but he said go for it.

The Shroud of Jotunheim quest mod author Svabbarjack has expressed a lot of interest to joining the dev team,
please welcome him if he comes poking around :)

Do we have permission to use SkyMoMod? Some of the creatures there can be very handy for both Skywind and Skyblivion.

I love that flying mod! The animation is so smooth!

It is a really well done mod. If anyone has not checked it out before give it a shot! It is a lot of fun to play around with. I got it most obviously for levitation stuff. The levitation spells in Skywind are fun as they are now(what a way to get around!) but maybe some of what is in this mod could be used to spice things up.

The problem with the flying mod, is that it's like a healing spell, you have to hold the key down to use it. The Skywind levitation is fire and forget(acts like a fireball and no key holding).

You can only use fire and forget for scrolls and potions, because, well, if we wanted to use the hold down spell, you'd get like a split second of spell time.

Also, I think this is the first time someone actually noticed we have working magic shit in Skywind. Yes, Skywind magic stuff works, some of it needs to be fixed up a bit(like boots of blinding speed not unblinding when you wear magic res), but it works.

I really like how the magic is played so far. Like some of the enchantments I have been messing with and they seem to work good and are cool. The only thing is some of the enchantments I learn, I cant use. It shows I know the enchantment but it won't go on anything. I have to say though my favorite thing so far is how the powers magic plays. After all in Morrowind you arn't the dragonborn, so no shouts.. so powers take a central stage for casting some of the cooler gear spells. Water walking is fun lol
