I've been following the development of this project for awhile, however I'm not quite familiar with the forum's structure, so apologies in advance.
In Oblivion, certain quests weren't available without a certain amount of infamy or fame, so will this be implemented for Skywind as well as the Oblivion version, too? I was disappointed that Skyrim removed it at all, and would love to see it return.
Do you know any quests in
Do you know any quests in Morrowind that require fame/infamy?

SBB64I would think this could be done by creating a global variable that can be incremented by completing quests. However, I've never seen anything in CK that points to fame/infamy being built into Skyrim. So it would have to be done outside of the basic engine.
Since there aren't very many quests completed so far, retrofitting a variable like that "shouldn't" be too difficult once it is decided what to track. Maybe? I'm really not positive if this would been special scripting or not.
Definitely not in Skyrim, but in Oblivion, yes it exists. I just imagined that if there were to be all three combined, the coders should be prepared for that variable, when it comes to quests.

I've yet to play through Morrowind, as I was excited for the completion of this mod, and wanted to wait for the full experience. If it does, I'm definitely not the person to ask.

Reputation is an attribute representing your renown in the world. You earn reputation by the deeds you do while completing quests and your reputation can only increase, never decrease. The higher your reputation is, the more friendly people will be towards you, resulting in easier persuasion, lower vendor prices, and just generally nicer responses from people. (Yes, the Ordinators will eventually stop calling you "scum" every time you walk by them.) Additionally, 50 Reputation is one of the requirements to enable a possible shortcut in the Main Quest.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In other words, it's only important for the Morrowind speedrunning crowd which is a pretty small niche. Therefore, it's not/shouldn't be top priority at the moment. The other functions of reputation are filled by friendship levels in the Skyrim engine.

That's not the same thing as Infamy and Fame in Oblivion, which opens certain quest chains. There's a reputation in that, that makes certain people like you better, via that persuasion mini game, but it's not the same as completing a certain amount of quests and being seen as a hero or villain and thusly, open good or evil questlines.
Morrowind doesn't have that
Morrowind doesn't have that system and neither does Skyrim. So your point is still moot. It may be a question for the Skyblivion forum though. I hear they need a kick in the pants. :P

Well yeah, but I thought they were planning to merge them, so we'd be able to travel to the three sections with one character. Thus fame and infamy are still kinda important, plus kind of a cool add in given the many places we'll travel, etc.

you mean play through skywind, then play through skyblivion, then skyrim all on the same character? Sounds daunting..
It does, but also like a damn
It does, but also like a damn good time!
When the time comes... Khar'lor, the scourge of Elsweyr, slayer of goats... and functional skooma addict will be ready...

My body is ready.
*Clears throat* ...I mean my character.
But yeah, doing so will mean that those little things could add a lot to the experience. There's a skyrim mod that could work similarly, I don't recall the name at the moment, but the gist of it is that it accounts for all the things you've done, like an extra kind of achievement section that grants your character bonuses.
This is not to say the fame/infamy should work the same way, but it's an idea if they find adding it too complicated otherwise.
From my perspective, adding
From my perspective, adding Fame/Infamy/Reputation should be trivial? Global variables are easy to track/manage, and DigitalParanoid has a Morroblivion mod that tracks stats like faction ranking and what have you, so Fame/Infamy/Reputation could easily be added to that.
Any Skywind quests I work on will track Reputation, anyway, so long as we have the proper globals set up.

Awesome, good to know.
Yes. we have a global
Yes. we have a global variable that tracks the Fame (fbmwPCFame IIRC). It's incremented when necessary (at least in my quests) and is sometimes used in dialogue conditions or quest advancement (might have further uses later).
Close to this topic is the one about disposition. Remember, we use a more simple approach based on relationship ranks
