Great will convert for Skywind :) I'm sure its stellar work from the Manhatten Man again, but you do have the advantage of manipulating the fabric of the universe, so expect good things from you.

Whats next on the your agenda?

Right now I'm focusing on getting Morroblivion v059 released.

I don't have any definitive plans for modeling, but I'll probably continue the ones I already started - flora, Telvannis, weapons.

BTW, I have leather texture for overhangs in 2k resolution, if you want it.

qwerty: Would be nice if you could do the west gash trees :)

Yeah, WG trees are pretty horrible, but I'm not sure how to improve them.

Are there any references of how these trees are supposed to look like?

ravanna fixed the first tree in the list, you can look at that:

Maybe I'm missing something, but what's different? (except the textures)

its smoother, and yes, the textures is new, the root meshes needs more crevaces, more depth and bump, like you did on the telvanni root textures

Like this? (ignore the disturbing lack of branches for now)

yeah, like that :) dont forget the small addon roots that go into the ground, FloraUrootUWGU01.nif to 09.nif

Good thing you mentioned that :D

Here's a little WIP I started yesterday:

BTW, trying to match original artstyle is really not that easy. I mean, look at this:

What is it, yellow worms?

I think as long as you understand what they are trying to portray with... worms :3 and recreate it somehow it will please the purists. What you've got there is ace.

Here're some ingame shots of the axe:

Still not quite happy with ornaments on the blade, but that should give you a general idea of how its going to look.

Are you kidding?  That looks great!!!  cool

Somehow I doubt that I'll make textures for ebony war axe any better, so I'll just release it.

First post updated.

Wow, it's been a long time since i posted in this topic - I bet some people thought it was dead :)

Well, it's not - here's a preview of remade trama roots:

Definitely looks more detailed, which is always better. But why is it more segmented?

Well, there are segments on the original model too - or at least I figured these were segments, because they are painted on the texture, rather than modelled.

When remodelling stuff, I usually take some original design elements and make them more detailed and pronounced. Do you think this one goes too far from the original?

Well, it's your interpretation as an artist and as such I wouldn't dare to comment on wether it's too far or not. Having said that though, looking at the original model and what it looks like in Skyrim, I think it's supposed to be more of an almost smooth rootlike surface broken up into several segments and each segment takes a different direction to grow into. It reminds me a little of an insect's antenna. The original artist might also have been influenced by how some palm trees or bamboo grows. The segments are really more smooth and connected. The segments are a little longer in the original version and the whole root in yours is more round. Your texture also reminds of metal and not wood. It's different but a new look on things can be a good thing.

It don't really like Skyrim version - it looks like any generic root, without the distinctive trama features.

I'm planning to improve the texture. Also, this will be an entirely optional replacer, so people who don't like the new look simply won't install it.

Time to resurrect this topic :)

Update on Ebony Shortsword:

Very nice attention to detail, looks really good. Though I think the hilt is meant to be made of leather in the original, you can see the stitching.

Yeah, I'm having trouble with the hilt, changed it several times already.

Making a scabbard now, any ideas on material or design?

Would like to incorporate these into skywind. Have you merged these with Morroblivion?

That dark leather looks really nice. Not sure if runes similar to the blade would be appropriate on there but it might be worth a try.

Only Ebony War Axe and overhangs models are merged - others I still haven't finished.

That actually might work:

Shortsword update:

Finished scabbard and made a new grip which I like a lot more. It's close to completion now, but I want to add engravings to crossguard and maybe tweak a few things.

That's a thing of beauty, I really like the new hilt.

Ingame shots with some added decoration:

Attaching the files for those who want it in their game. It's 'final' unless I decide to change some minor details.
