General stability

Submitted by misterfoz on

It's falling over more than I would at the tail end of an Irish wedding. This will no doubt be because of the slipshod way I have tried to manage downloads and the like. Is their, anywhere, a real 'idiot's guide' to a nice clean install with all the add on's you'd want? The sort of guide that would enable one's grandparents to get it right. Or a monkey.

also, it said I should tell you this:

Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@morroblivion.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

The Complete Installation.

Also, post your load order.

Does it matter that I have both the Nexus and Oblivion mod managers? I think NMM manages the downloading,  does this mean OMM won't know about them?

ClothingReplacer.esp
Morrowind_ob - ClothingReplacer.esp

It's the same thing, you don't need both.

Morrowind_ob - Conversation.esp
Morroblivion Conversation.esp

Same here. The one with Morrowind_ob prefix should be the latest version.

Morrowind_ob - Morroblivion_Chargen_And_Transport_Mod_v8.esp
Morroblivion_Chargen_And_Transport_Mod_v10.esp

You're using 2 different versions of Transport mod. Use only the latest.

Vvardenfell_Imports_Open_Cities_Patch.esp
Vvardenfell_Imports.esp

You only need Open Cities Patch if you have Open Cities mod installed (and you don't).
And you only need Vvardenfell Imports.esp if you want a shop in Cheydinhal with all armors - you don't need it to play Morroblivion.

Morrowind_ob - Almalexia.esp

This esp is redundant and I don't even know where you got it - it was removed from Complete Installation download for at least three versions now.

Which leads me the most important question - do you have the latest version of Morroblivion (this would be v059, released 2 days ago). If not, you really should follow the link to Complete Installation in my previous post and update.

They are pretty much the same thing, NMM being slightly updated.

If you want a mod manager, Wrye Bash is much better than any of those.

A very kind fellow name of Thermador has taken the time to explain this to me, along with many other things, and to do so slowly, and using small words.

I am most grateful to him.

Oh, and also: qwerty and Roxon, thank you very much for your help. It's always a pleasant surprise to receive good assistance.

Though as 'new people' you haven't had so much of the galloping ineptitude as my friends have. They have learnt not to be drawn in ;)
